Guest guest
I'm so glad my kids aren't the only ones who do things like that! Our daughter (no medical/neuro issues - just very precocious at the time) was running around the Whole Foods store and leaned into the red fire alarm on the door - scared the bejeebers out of everybody in the place! Josh decided to pull the fire alarm at another grocery store just a couple of weeks ago. Keep laughing, Pam, there's nothing else to do! Sherry noaholiviaian <p.haselow@...> wrote: Hi! Never a dull day around here! I decided to take Ian to church this morning. I have avoided church for about 2 months for reasons most of you probably already understand!!! Ian decided to pull the fire alarm in the middle of the sermon. Enough said. Enjoy your day! Pam
Guest guest
I can relate to church problems. My girls didn't pull the fire alarm, but it was always a struggle for them to go to church. By the way, we switched to a small church that some family friends attended, and they like it now. However, they were probably 4 years old before we started going to church regularly. I love it, now. One thing use to make me so mad. My mom use to compare the girls and I to this mom who had a down syndrome son. My mom always talked about how well behaved this child was during church, and she would question why I couldn't get my children to behave during church. It would make me so mad that she would compare a down syndrome child to a child with brain damage who is bright but can't talk. Sorry I'm rambling. Going to church just brings back so many memories. I was/am so happy that is not in a wheelchair and permanently disabled. I guess my point is that these issues will pass. As they get older, they can communicate better and they can deal with sensory issues better. Also, they have more stamina, and they don't get tired as easily. I don't think our kids handle being tired well. Don't give up on church. I would try every few months. If I really needed to go to church for myself, my husband would watch the kids. Once we finally started going to church again, I really appreciated it. I am a much more regular church attender now than I ever was before I had kids.
