Sheer forces and Cancer

Here are some followup articles on the earlier discussion generated by Barewell from Dynamic Chiropractic, although extended beyond that origin.... The summary of these articles suggests that the long established role of "form governs function" continues to be revealed. Here is another article which shows us that cancer exists in most of us in multiple locations, although not expressed aggressively without a disruption of the endothelia surrounding local blood vessels and angiogenesis of the basement membrane wherein the cancer cells are existing. See: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/29/health/research/29cancer.htmlCancerous tumors deprived of fresh source of blood and oxygen cannot grow beyond very small sizes. Now we see that mechanical forces (mechanotactic stimulation) or sheer forces in human tissue play a predominate role in angiogenesis and consequent CA cell proliferation and metastasis. Sheer forces, or chronically tight musculature, distort cells, and cause cellular cytoskeleton to polarize in the direction of the sheer forces, "pushing" angiogenesis forward along the lines of tension. In the absence of such mechaniotactic stimulation, when tissue if allowed to relax, angiogenesis is greatly diminished. See for more: http://circres.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/100/6/782#FIG6Accepted, this research suggests that reducing and eliminating chronic lines of tension held by centralization of nervous system compensations to injury and subsequent postural distortions, back to a more supple, skeletal-supported relationship to gravity, should slow cancerous spread in the body.
