This reminds me, in an oblique way, of a bit I saw of Dr. Duke, famed ethnobotanist of the USDA, on TV. The program was taking a dim view of the push to " standardize " herbs. Dr. Duke said " I had my cup of coffee this morning, and I don't know if it had 200 or 60 mg. of caffeine, but all I know is I got my jolt, and that's all that matter. There are that do address natural or organic, perhaps some of our members know of them and can recommend them to you. It is the " whole " herb with all of its molecules intact that is the most effective with the least amount of side effects. This is now heavily debated in herbal circles, with many well known herbalists and herb research organizations moving to agree with standardization (including isolation and synthesis) in order to more readily align CAM with allopathy. Saddens me that there isn't more impetus (and $) to prove what Dr. Duke and others know to be true.
