Those of you who have taken TLC workshops over the past 5 years know that we

have a special mission to provide highly practical, hands-on workshops on topics

that make you a better trainer. To achieve this, we limit the number of

participants, so we can provide individual attention.

In the next few weeks, we'll be rolling out TLC mini-workshops in an online

format. These will last 60-90 minutes. The initial two topics will be

artifacting assessment files in BioExplorer and artifacting in Infiniti. In the

near future, we'll be offering case conferences online as well. We're very

interested in hearing any ideas members of the list might have as to topics,

scheduling, length of workshops and concerns about using this format. Please

feel free to make suggestions or raise questions.

In order to participate, you'll need a computer with a fast internet connection

(DSL or better) and a phone lline. All participants will share the same

conference call, so we can all hear each other. All participants will also be

able to see the same desktop on their computers--as well as working on their own

files on their computers!

If there is interest, we'll be happy to schedule specialized times for

Australians, Europeans or others for whom time differences require different

hours. Again, because of the commitment to smaller groups and individual

participation, we can customize these programs.

Looking forward to working with you on getting this system up and running so

that it meets your needs.

Hi Pete and listmates,

Great to hear that you are beginning an online workshop format. I would love to have some help with developing BioReview Designs. I would like to be able to track progress over time using BioReview capabilities. Pete, would you be willing to consider having a workshop to focus on BioReview Design building - - or do you know where I could locate some information on how to get started with BioReview Designs.

Thanks,

Parks

Dear Pete: I love the idea of online mini-workshops and would especially

like case conference ones. Seems like a win-win; you can talk from Brazil

and we can have the best of your input in a small group without dragging you

all over the world.

,

Certainly the ability to track sessions over time is an issue for many who like

graphing in BioReview. It's not EASY to do this, but it is possible, and could

even benefit from the use of a few Excel files. I'll put this on the list of

workshops and get one scheduled in the next few weeks.

Marvin,

If you are specifically interested in learning to trend data, I'll be setting up

a mini online workshop for those interested in that in the next couple weeks.

I'll inform you.

To learn general use of BioReview, I'll be happy to work with you, if that's an

area of interest.

It will be a while, if ever, before the mini-workshops online can replace the

full hands-on workshops. There is simply too much material to handle in those,

and the interaction between participants in the hands-on portion (e.g. doing an

assessment) is simply not reproducible online. However, for specialized

functions like setting up BioReview longitudinal tracking, artifacting data in

assessments, specialized BioExplorer screens, case conferencing, etc., I am

excited about this option.

You're in the right place to learn more about it, since we'll be discussing and

announcing on the list.
