Guest guest
I work at an acute psychiatric facility & med non-compliant pts are the usual reason for admission. Some have a history of bariatric surgery. With their psych med non-compliance, unfortunately, there is also dietary supplements non-compliance. Average length of stay ~ 3-5 days, so there's not a lot of time to get lab results, especially if the pt refuses a blood draw. What recommendations would you make regarding labs tests & dietary supplements? -What type of multivitamins-chewable, adult, etc? -Calcium supplement-amount/type/form, etc? -Vitamin B-12-how often, what type, etc? -What additional labs would you order? --Iron studies, etc? Thanks. Dianne Kiyomoto, RD __________________________________________________
