Guest guest
Dear all, I have a 7/12 month post Bypass client who is having difficulty with sweet cravings all of a sudden to the point that she is sometimes giving-in and doesn't care about experiencing the symptoms of Dumping rationalizing it as "It will go away in 10 minutes and I would rather have the donut". I looked closely at her diet and she has been slacking up on the protein in the morning due to stress and no time at work lately. She states she is feeling hungry every 2 hours even after she eats a protein say a fourth of a chicken wrap. she claims she is drinking alot of water. she has lost alot of weight; almost 100llbs so far with 20 or so in the last few weeks! I told her she needs to add a 20 gram protein shake in the am or at least 2 to 3 ounces of soft protein like egg or tuna salad. Any other suggestions? Also, has anyone seen hypoglycemia in post bypass patients? she is not or was not a diabetic. Thank you. Debra Brown-Grossman, M.P.H.,R.D.,C.D.E. Montclair, N.J.
