Guest guest
Hi Jim, Have you tried fatty acids applied directly on the area? Sometimes vitamin E from wheat germ oil is helpful for these things. Guest guest
Hi Jim, I've never heard this name " contact sensitisation-allergic dermatitis " before, but this has to be the same as the skin allergies I have had for years. You tell me. I touch things and then my skin breaks out. I've battled with this for years. It can be extreme. Consider not only the skin outbreaks, which can itch terribly, but also the immune system is weakened right away [i can feel it] and often results in getting " the flu " for a week. Or it USED TO result in that for me. That has not happened in some time. I'm actually battling " a cold " right now that is the result of touching something. [i have skin reactions on my arms which I am treating as listed below.] Anyway, getting to your question, I do not know what to do to get rid of the allergy. [i used NAET for a while, which may have reduced the allergy?] I deal with it by treating the symptoms IMMEDIATELY. This works pretty well. If I can reduce the itching RIGHT AWAY the condition never gets to the point of being a problem, and I don't get sick, etc. Sometimes I'm successful enough to have the issue go away right away, other times [like now] I have to battle with it for a day or two. I have tried a LOT of different things. Here are the ones I think work pretty well [when used IMMEDIATELY at first sign of itching]: 1. sarna lotion [non perscription lotion. the main active ingredient is something innocuous like methol or peppermint.] Great stuff. 2. alternating hot and cold water. get the hot and cold directly on the itchy area. repeat. wonderful. 3. my accupunturist gives me " skin herbs " to help clear out the congestion. I'm sorry I don't know what is in this formula. I could find out. 4. oatmeal bath. Aaveno brand makes a powdered formula. You can also use rolled oats: put oatmeal in a bag or cloth that has room for water to get through the threads.....put in tub with hot water....squeeze the bag or cloth to release oat-slime into the tub. I have not used it as much, but have also had some good results with mustard baths or cayenne baths [be careful not to burn your skin]. I also think that if it " gets to " the immune-wekness-cold-flu stage that treating THAT problem is also good. e.g. I am taking echinacea & not eating solid food.... whatever your personal protocol for a cold would be..... Guest guest
You can make your own Aaveno by placing the oats in a blender and blend until powdered(much less expensive ;-)This can also be used as a drawing pultice P.M. --- Original Message --- Moria Merriweather <moriam@...> Wrote on Sat, 16 Sep 2000 10:53:05 -0700 4. oatmeal bath. Figure this: ozonated olive oil aggravates it!?! Jim, The clorox, the ess oils and the aloe are all rather alkaline; the clorox extremely so. Try some cider vinegar? The hemp oil is loaded with essential fatty *acids*---another clue? According to " metabolic balancing " , and my incomplete understanding of it as yet, allergic reactions occur in those who are too alkaline. Now, if I could only get a handle on what systems are too alkaline......sigh. It's that venous ph again. You might also want to try a hefty dose or two of pantothenic acid; this will act as a natural anti-histamine. HTH, Sharon
Guest guest
The trigger this time was a dilute chlorox solution. The last time I had this it was a combination of several essential oils, including some that can trigger this. It is not laundry detergent, Vilik. I have avoided things like that for decades. I have used Arm & Hammer for twenty years and never a proble. I only wear cotton clothes next to my body. This was a chemical allergic reaction, no question. Normal things don't work. It doesn't even want aloe! It wants to be left alone, but the skin is dry and that makes it itch worse. makes a product called Hemp Plus, which is the only thing I have found that didn't aggravate it. I'm at a loss. Guest guest
Jim, That happens to be my first trigger ( for MCS), in a now, long list of cleaning products. Can you explain the rash is it swollen, painful, red, etc...? Do you have any other symptoms ( brain fog, etc...) Do you think your reaction is getting worse with consecutive exposures? I won't go into my symptoms (don't see how it will help you), but I'll tell you what I did after you give me more specifics on the rash and what's going on with your entire body. P.M.
