Guest guest
My fiance has a subscription to Playboy magazine. Once I get in shape I'm going to go to a photographer and have some lingerie photos taken. That way, whenever he gets the urge to look at a sexy scantily- clad woman he can look at me! :-) Sherri C. Guest guest
ha! 90% of my goals are based on vanity. I think if that's what works to get me healthy, it's okay. I also dream of being able to wear a bikini this summer... lying on the beach... That's what's keeping me going. I was always the only one to not wear one too. : ( Sheesh, I wouldn't even be caught dead in a bathing suit period. I'd always " forget " mine. Last summer my vain goal was to be able to wear a sleeveless top. That's all I needed! But not anymore, I am going to have that bikini! (while hoping my stretch marks aren't glaringly obvious!) > I know that we all have our goals posted everywhere to try to help us > keep going but I also know that everyone has at least one little > *vain* goal in their minds like every year my friends and my family > go canoing in the summer time and all of the girls where bikinis > (except for me) and my little *vain* goal is to be one of the ones > wearing the bikini next year ~ any other little *vain* goals out > there?? Guest guest
I belong to this little " vanity fair " too--why not? When I lost 60 pounds about 2 years ago, I wore a two-piece bathing for the first time since I was about 7 years old (the first time I can remember someone calling me " chubby " --they thought I was sleeping. As*holes) and it was the thrill of a lifetime. Shortly after that, my friends husband picked me up over his head while horsing around and nothing ever made me so happy!!! Being healthy is a nice fringe benefit (<--sarcastic) I like to say that if my lungs hung outside my chest, it'd be a lot easier to quit smoking. > > I know that we all have our goals posted everywhere to try to help > us > > keep going but I also know that everyone has at least one little > > *vain* goal in their minds like every year my friends and my family > > go canoing in the summer time and all of the girls where bikinis > > (except for me) and my little *vain* goal is to be one of the ones > > wearing the bikini next year ~ any other little *vain* goals out > > there?? Guest guest
I had one of those moments not that long ago myself... My hubby picked me up and put me over his shoulder and ran around the house just because he could now! It was such a cool feeling to actually weigh less than him! Also, being strong is one of the greatest feelings in the world. A friend and I went out shopping on the weekend. She needed kitty litter and was going to buy it in bulk. She could barely push the 50 pound box across the floor, I lifted it up without blinking and threw it in the cart, she was dumbfounded! Being strong is also a great fringe benefit that goes along with looking better-isn't always obvious to anyone looking at you, but when it comes to doing everyday things, it makes life infinately easier. > I belong to this little " vanity fair " too--why not? Guest guest
haha! I can only dream of being stronger than my hubby, he doesn't lift weights but is naturally very muscular, I think he has like 8% body fat, but he isn't scrawny at all. I've inspired him to start weight lifting though, he starts tonight! I'm gonna have a muscle man for a hubby! whoohoo! > I would LOVE to weigh less than my hubby, (and of course i'll be > stronger )

Guest guest
Oh yeah, I want to be strong too! (LOL). Actually, that is something that's important to me. When I was younger, people were always impressed with my ability to pick up heavy things without a thought. The last time I was working out regularly (about a year and a half ago) I was testing my one-rep max, and this woman who I respect and admire was actually in awe of ME! I swear, in the time that I haven't been working out, I could feel myself getting weaker by the minute. I started asking my husband to pick up those big bags of cat litter and dog food for me. Total shame spiral. > > > I belong to this little " vanity fair " too--why not? Guest guest
Yeah, I helped my sister carry in a box (from Ikea) that was too big for one person to carry. I lefted my end...thought it was light. She was huffy and puffy and complaining how heavy it was. I held my end up higher, too. That was the first time I realized it was working...I had muscles. > > > > I belong to this little " vanity fair " too--why not? Guest guest
That is awesome! Guest guest
Hi all-I'm new to the group. On day 14 of my first challenge and doing well. My main motivator is to get healthy-tired of feeling like a slug, bu my vanity goal is to look better than my DH who is 6 years older. He has been an exercise devotee since the 80's and is in great shape, eats crappy, but a great build. After my 3rd baby at age 36, I developed a gallstone. I easily lost the baby fat because the gallstone kept me from digesting my food properly and from absorbing nutrients. So....once I got rid of the gallstone, my near 40 year old metabolism pooped out and I began to put on wieght. I gained 25# over the past 3 years. So, I too am aimimg for a bikini summer, teamed with alot more energy! Re: What I am looking forward to.... haha! Guest guest
My vain little goal is look hot in front of my boyfriend's group of friends. Guest guest
Speaking of vain little goals..my husband is in theatre (interestingly, he's one of the most humble people I know), but as you might guess, appearances are mighty important. Man, just once would I like to feel like one of those " hot little wives " !!! (of course, this would require a major wardrobe, makeup and hair overhaul as well!) -- In , ashdgibson <no_reply@y...> wrote: > My vain little goal is look hot in front of my boyfriend's group of > friends. Guest guest
What I am looking forward to......I have a few! 1. Going out with my girlfriends...and not being the " chubby " girl. 2. Going to Disneyland and not looking through the line to see if there's anyone bigger than me and watching to see if they fit in the seatbelt. 3. Sitting at a restaurant booth without looking like I'm stuck and can't get out. 4. Actually visiting the bathing suit section of a store. Just to name a few..... > I know that we all have our goals posted everywhere to try to help us > keep going but I also know that everyone has at least one little > *vain* goal in their minds like every year my friends and my family > go canoing in the summer time and all of the girls where bikinis > (except for me) and my little *vain* goal is to be one of the ones > wearing the bikini next year ~ any other little *vain* goals out > there?? Guest guest
After 2 beautiful babies, I have a horrible looking stomach. I want it to be flat and lean, maybe SOME definition if I can. I got a navel ring 2 months ago before I started BFL thinking my stomach was flat enough to get one, and No... :-( When I stand up, you can hardly see the bottom because it gets sucked into my fat, so I want to see my navel ring when I stand up.... OH and wear a bikini to the beach. LOL ~kimmah What I am looking forward to.... Guest guest
Yeah that's mine too! LOL My 10 yr reunion is next year. And I have ALWAYS been fat up until 3 years ago. I am ALOT smaller than I was in HS, hell I am smaller than I was in elementary school (goes to show I've always been fat) LOL But I NEVER dated anyone but my husband in HS and it WOULD be nice for all those guys to see what they missed out on, although I wouldn't trade my husband for any of those guys for anything in the world. I'm glad I was fat and never dated anyone BUT my husband.... :-) ~kimmah What I am looking forward to.... > any other little *vain* goals out > there?? Guest guest
I can relate to this...i got my belly ring about 9 months ago after i had lost 50+ pounds and was feeling great about my progress..well i tried to blame it on the poor guy who pierced it but i knew it was because i still had alot of flab to lose and tighten...my biggest belly problem is the area right above my belly button.. it is almost like a cone shape, sticks out further than any other part of my belly. Anyone else shaped like this...or WAS and things flattened out??? Kim Ohio > After 2 beautiful babies, I have a horrible looking stomach. Guest guest
Okay, I really thought this one over and since I'm not the bikini type and that seems to be the ultimate wish.... here is my secret goal. About three years ago, after my fourth baby I was getting in great shape, running six miles a day and doing water sports every night. So one night I decided to go ahead and strip for my dh. He taped it, God bless the soul that ever comes across that in our belongings! Anyway, I know he'd like that, he's a very moral guy, but he likes his woman to be a prude in public and a ( you fill in the blank ) in the bedroom. So, I'm looking forward to doing the tease and much better with a lot more confidence this time!!!! I'm also going to pick out my music before hand since Bowie's Red Shoes isn't the best stripping music! - it was the only thing he could find on the radio! Guest guest
Okay girls, along these lines, guess what I bought on Monday??? BOOTS! Yes, boots that come up to an inch below my knees with a heel around 2-1/2 inches. I have never been able to fit my calves in boots before and this is thrilling to me! Of course I had to get a couple of skirts to go with them too. I had my girls along so couldn't try anything on at the store. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything above size 10. Got them home and they all fit!!!!!!!!!! So now I am working on " dressing up " at least one day a week (I'm a SAHM) instead of just my regular pants and t-shirt look. I even put on some mascara and lipstick (Max Factor Lipfinity is awesome and lasts all day). I had extra confidence yesterday dressed like this - even though the only outing I had was to pick up oldest daughter from school and take aging mom to get an osteo-brace fitted for her leg!
