Guest guest Posted April 10, 2011 Report Share Posted April 10, 2011 D2 (sorry, no subscript) is from veg sources and is what you'll invariably find in "chalav Israel" ("Israel milk") milk--kosher milk that's found for sale in religious neighborhoods. I know that quite a bit of the D3 available is from animal sources but I'm not sure about the particulars (sorry). Either way, Vitamin D is fat-soluble so be careful when you take it. I'd just go with a good commercial supplement or even a good multivitamin that contains the amount you need (I realize this is heresy to a lot of folks here). Solgar is a very reputable brand and there are others as well, e.g., KAL. vit d...d3 or d2 and best source food and supplement hi everyone my vit d level is low 28 - my doctor wants me to take 4000 iu .. i have been at this for months without any movement. do any of you know of a valued brand or supplement you would recommend? also what say you re..d2 vs d3 ( i have been taking d3). im thinking of trying drops since i have been taking softgels with no improvement. lastly i know eggs and milk have vit d .. anything i might put in a smoothie? thanks! pam Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
