Guest guest
Hi had his last IEP today before he goes to high school this fall. It was kind of sad in a way. Mrs. Mosier, his teacher, has at least one of our kids in her class ever since 1997. The IEP went well except when they said the speech teacher wanted to cut his minutes in speech. I put my foot down on that one. The kid is just starting to talk in complete sentences. No time to decrease his speech minutes. They said they would see that the minutes were not reduced and Mrs. Byergo (the speech teacher) would be calling me to talk about the possibility or impossibility of an increase. Always insist your kids get what they need. and I always do and we usually get it. I walk a tight line becomes a licensed teacher myself and would love to have a job with this district. So I try to be diplomatic but firm too. May all your IEP's go well this spring. Dad to , Kristi, and (all three Down syndrome) and (Cri du chat) Husband to C. in Mo. " Daddy " to and in Calif.
