The CAO Endorses Senator Joan Dukes

Dear Colleagues,

Senator Dukes was supportive of the continued inclusion of chiropractic back in 1990 when the Mahoney Hall group had initially written Doctors of Chiropractic completely out of Worker's Compensation.

She supported the re-inclusion of chiropractic to the now famous 12 visits or 30 days and that it be mandatory that our profession would also be included in all managed care groups within Worker's compensation (at the time no one knew what a "hair-ball" managed care would turn out to be!).

Senator Dukes believes that the public should have the right to choose their provider and is in favor of insurance equality so Oregon consumers can in fact do just that.

She has been extensively involved in "Pain Management" and believes that all providers should be working together for the common good of the patient.

For example Senator Dukes has been quite involved with the "Oregon Pain Society" formerly the Eugene Pain society who's philosophy is that of a multi-disciplinary approach. The Oregon Pain Society promotes the conviction that the various health care profession need to have an understanding relative to what each group has to offer patients and as such know when it is appropriate to refer to each other. It just so happens she has even worked with a good friend of mine here in Albany who has been involved with this group for sometime Hank Holmes, MD.

So please consider joining the Chiropractic Association of Oregon and support Senator Joan Dukes.
