Guest guest
Hi Rashelle, Thank you so very much for this really wonderful reply!!! I have a followup question for you, which, of course, is based on the answer you gave me below. Now I want to know if doing the pelvic tilt WHILE I am doing my Life Lift breathing will cause me to lose even MORE weight that I do when I am doing Life Lift breathing standing up straight. In other words, would doing the pelvic tilt WHILE doing my Life Lift breathing speed up my metabolism EVEN MORE than doing Life Lift breathing standing up straight would? Thanks once again for answering this followup question, Rashelle!!! I love the sound of the " exchanging arm flies " that you describe in regard to doing the pelvic tilt lying down!!!! I am going to have to try THAT one for sure!! Thanks for telling me about that one, Rashelle!!! So, if you would please answer the question that I posed to you in my first and longest paragraph above, I would really and truly appreciate it, Rashelle, and thanks again, not only for this, but for all the blessings that each one of us is constantly receiving from knowing you!!! Love always, Pat Rashelle Haines wrote: > Hi Pat, > > Good question. > > Any time you stretch or flex a muscles it draws the oxygen to the point of stress to burn fat, tone the muscle and heal the area of tension, so in the pelvic tilt you would have your mid body flexed, your abdomen, your hips, your upper thighs and even your calves. At the same time your rear end will get a good deal in the flex so these areas will get an especially good toning session. I also find it makes it easier to do a kegal type of exercise where you are flexing the muscles all the way from your pelvic area so this is excellent for keeping the pelvic floor, both in men and women toned and strong. The pelvic floor is a group of muscles which actively support the bladder, uterus and bowel. As we age that area can really suffer and we can have a host of related issues connected with the loss of muscle tone. These are all really good reasons that the pelvic tilt is my number one favorite position. The other good reason is that I personally find in the pelvic tilt position that I get a higher and a deeper " lift " which gives me a better vacuum. Karma sent those great illustrations awhile back, (thanks again, Karma). It is one of the easiest poses to do and one of the most effective. I usually add some arm workout when I am doing the pelvic tilt like this: > > When in the pelvic tilt on the floor I like to do exchange arm flies. This is where you raise one arm, slowly to the sky, keeping the other on the floor, straight, then you exchange and alternate the other arm reaching to the sky while the other drops to be flat on the floor. It is a good idea to try to flex the arm as you lift it to the sky for even more toning. This works the area at the back of the arm, the triceps to keep you from having fly away arms. > > Be Healthy and take good care, > > Rashelle > Harness the Powerful Benefits of Oxygen with LifeLift. > Oxygen burns fat, tones muscles, reduces stress > Be healthier with each breath you take with LifeLift > www.oxygenlift.net. Guest guest
Hello Pat, I am getting ready to leave town so I will most likely not be on line again before I leave early tomorrow, but I wanted to try to answer this for you before I go. Doing any position or action will increase the number of calories you are burning some, but there is no way to tell exactly what difference it will make for you. I find that I do better when I add positions, even those as simple as the pelvic tilt, but everyone is different so you may just want to experiment to see if you feel you are getting more from your workout by adding the positions. I have heard from a few people who say they do better when they just focus entirely on doing the breaths correctly so they are not distracted by the movement, but I feel that most people can learn to do the LifeLift breathing correctly easily from watching the instructions on either the Original LifeLift DVD or video or the OxygenZoo and then they can just breeze through combining positions with LifeLift. The simple answer is yes, you should do better by adding any position to LifeLift, but it depends on if you are able to continue to do your LifeLift breaths making sure you don't rush through or skip steps because you are distracted by the positions. For me it is easy to do the LifeLift breaths with any position without even thinking. The LifeLift breaths are second nature for me so I definitely prefer it when I can stop and do the workouts with the positions along with the LifeLift breaths. Guest guest
Hi Rashelle, Thank you so much for this wonderful answer. I really appreciate your thoroughness in answering it, as I know everyone else on our list does, too. I will save this in my Life Lift folder for future reference. I hope that you have a wonderful time while you are out of town, and I know that you will, as I know that you have a wonderful time wherever you go and whatever you do!!! Take care of yourself, Rashelle, my dear friend, and may God bless you always. It is 12:15 am in the wee hours of Friday morning here in Vermont as I type this to you, so I am on my way to bed. I have more to say about things that you said below, but I will have plenty of opportunities to say them in the future. Have a wonderful night, my dear friend, and thank you once again.
