Guest guest
Welcome JEnni Glad you survived , it seems alot of us had a few months of major whirlwinds. Time for the winds to calm down. Glad you are back. Blessings R Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sitting here wondering if you all remember me? I've missed you all! How are you? I've thought of many of you often and prayed for you often and wished I could just sit and write and read our wonderful list. This morning I actually was able to do that! Happy Birthday Wanda! I'm sorry I missed it, but I pray you had a delightful and heart warming day. This has been a whirlwind couple of months and has kept me almost completely off line. I don't even know where to start. (Not that you asked LOL) Let's see, first of course we went to see our beautiful grandson in October. Rick, my dh went in December and was able to spoil him for a few days also Last September my sweet mil and fil came to visit. Unfortunately while they were at a rest area on their drive here, my mil fell in the parking lot. By the time she arrived at our home her back and arms were very black and blue, but she refused to see the doctor. In hindsight Rick and I realize we should have just taken her no matter what, but we were brought up to respect our parents and it was her decision not to go. Just after Christmas she ended up going in to have a hip replaced. Apparently a piece of the bone literally sheered off and instead of a " ball " joint her bone was flat. (they believe it happened when she fell) She was in severe pain, which either my fil didn't realize or she just never told him. She was incontinent, which we didn't find out until after the surgery when my dh went in to sleep in the guest room (she had been sleeping there because she was afraid of keeping my fil up) and found the mattress soaked. And it had happened several times. Now, my mil is a very proud woman and would NEVER have let Rick see this, and she knew he was coming that day (it was the day of the surgery). In fact she is so proud, she had to get her hair done to go into the hospital. LOL Sadly while she was in surgery she suffered a stroke. We weren't prepared for this. And being so far away makes it so difficult. So, we have been traveling back and forth to Texas weekly. She is doing better, having been moved to a nursing home. They had to put a tube in her stomach to feed her as she would choke all the time...which led them to do the CAT scans and testing to figure out she had had a stroke. She sounds better when I talk to her on the phone, and seems optimistic that she will come home some day. We pray this is so. On top of this my fil cannot take care of himself. (well he can now LOL). Mom did everything for him...she was a SAHM before the term became popular and was proud of her job and did it well. Too well tee hee. Dad couldn't even run the dishwasher...didn't have a clue! So between taking care of them and homeschooling and being a homemaker and and and LOL Well you all know how it goes. The boys are doing well, as is Rick. I'm down 15 lbs and working hard at losing the rest...I'm really thrilled. Thank goodness for LL or I never would have gotten through these several months. Oh, I forgot to mention that my computer went down (talk about feeling cut off from the world!) and I have to go in for an MRI because the doctor believes I have a tumor in my shoulder. It is extremely painful. I end up doing more breaths than normal just to ease the pain! Okay, now that I wrote a book and if you read this far thank you!, I hope you are all doing well and I am so thankful to be back here reading your encouragements and hearing all that is going on in your lives! love, Jenni
