Job Title: Safety Coach Start date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Location: Offshore UK Rota: 2/2 Job Description: At all times, the job-holder will: · Demonstrate personal commitment to promoting safety of people on all sites and to the company SHE Policy · Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company SHE standards · Actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemesIn undertaking this role, the job-holder will: · Proactively carry out the activities of the job · Be responsible for meeting agreed objectives · Adapt to changes in work practices and job activities · Act in the best interest of client at all times · Seek out learning opportunities and transfer new skills and knowledge to the job · Adhere to the values and principles of the Company Code of Conduct at all times · Willingly and openly share good practice · Openly question established practices and achieve continuous quality and commercial improvements · Actively identify best practice (industry, technical, professional, etc.) and encourage an environment in which this is willingly and openly shared · Create an environment in which a focus on value awareness is developed and constantly think in terms of cost/benefit trade-off · Identify and adopt creative and alternative approaches to problem-solving and encourage others to do the same · Evaluate risks at the appropriate level and take considered and measured risks only ACTIVITIES · Spend a minimum of 8 hours per day in safety coaching activities at all the work fronts on the installation, seeking to gain the trust and confidence of worksite personnel and stimulate pro-active coaching on all HSE issues · Spend a minimum of an hour a day with Supervisors in safety coaching activities · Actively seek out opportunities to coach the Service Providers in executing SUSA visits, observation and other safety inputs · Raise the standards of the behavioural safety programme across the installation to build a culture of personal accountability where safe behaviours are re-enforced, and at-risk behaviours are challenged · Support the client representatives (Area operators) at the worksite in ensuring compliance with client polices and procedures · Engage the workforce in safety conversations to raise the level of their hazard awareness · Carry out permit audits on a daily basis and to review the content of the risk assessment and the existing site hazards with the work team · Intervene with all activities if an unsafe act or condition is observed and where necessary stop the job until the unsafe act or condition is resolved · Recognise good safety behaviours of the workforce as they are observed and also bring good safety behaviours to the notice of the installation management within handover reports · Reinforce the team processes on the installation e.g. by regularly attending toolbox and pre shift meetings · Attend and participate in any safety meetings at request and respond to any actions in a positive and timely manner · Work in close cooperation with client Health, Safety and Welfare supervisor and service providers safety coaches · Co-operate with the Installation Safety Representatives on all matters relating to HS & E· Assist the client Health, Safety and Welfare supervisor onboard in the completion of job site audits and incident investigations as necessary. CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT Based offshore, the post holder will spend significant periods of time out at worksites coaching the workforce during their work activities and supporting their line managers in HSE supervision and improvement. The post will follow the progress of the Cross Site Upgrade Project and aims to enhance the awareness of safety during the increased level of activity. The post holder will discuss safety matters with all levels of worker on board and have a responsibility to report any important issues to the relevant representatives. ACCOUNTABILITY · Provide on job coaching support across the installation · Ensure client's minimum standards and legislative requirements are consistently applied · Reporting to Production Superintendent and SHE Department · Building relationships across the installation in order that safety issues can be openly discussed and improved REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE · Proven record of proactively building relationships in an oil/gas service contractor Company or Operator with relevant offshore and HSE experience · NEBOSH/British Safety Council HSE qualification or equivalent · Ability to communicate with and influence people at all levels of the organisation e.g. workforce and supervisors · Working knowledge of UK onshore and offshore health & safety legislation · Experience in successfully applying health and safety standards and procedures and the ability to develop thorough knowledge of Company and Group standards and procedures · Trained to participate in investigations of significant accidents/incidents · Ability to obtain Offshore Survival Certificate and satisfactory UKOOA medical and willingness to work offshore · Relevant knowledge of North Sea Lifting Rules desirable Please give me a call on , if this is of interest to you.
