Guest guest
Since kefir has yeasts in it, is it OK to use kefir while on anti-fungals? We lived in a mold contaminated house and are currently on anti-fungals for at least fungus in sinuses and digestive tract if not systemic. I actually tossed my kefir grains (water and dairy) out of concern of cross contamination from mold spores air borne in our home. We have left that home and are in a new location until our home is safe to return to.. if it ever is. I am not sure if the yeasts would be killed off my the anti-fungal (diflucan) and then might present more " die off reactions " to deal with than otherwise... Thinking if so, homemade yogurt 24 hour cultured might be a better choice? Also wondering about herbs that kill bacteria as well as fungus.. while drinking kefir. I have lyme disease and use herbs from time to time for that as well. Thank you, Robin
