Hi Meghan,

There is a chapter in my book on how to prevent food allergies in children ( I was able to do this in my third child--my first two had food allergies, then I made changes before becoming pregnant with my third and he seems to be doing great so far--only six mos old). It comes down to cleaning up your gastrointestinal system, detoxifying your body and clearing yourself of your own food sensitivities and allergies (many of which are "hidden"). I would do a gut-healing protocol like Body Ecology Diet or GAPS diet in conjunction with finding a way to clear your own allergies/sensitivities (e.g. BioSET, NAET, accupuncture, etc.) (you might consider having an IgG food sensitivity test run--they are not perfect, but they might uncover some hidden allergies). After you improve your own gut health (heal leaky gut, restore balance of good microorganisms, probiotic foods, etc.), then you must be sure to avoid antibiotics (and many other meds)

at all costs --no reflux meds, no NSAIDS, no hormone or steroids meds. None for you or baby. Antibiotics while PG are the kiss of death as far as food allergies are concerned. I can give you some more details --let me know if you are interested, but more details can be found in my book, A Compromised Generation: The Epidemic of Chronic Illness in America's Children www.acompromisedgeneration.com

Let me know if you have additional questions. Beth

Hi all,

My son has MANY, MANY environmental and food allergies. I'm planning on having more kids, but would like to avoid this from happening again. Does anyone have any advice on how I can stop this from happening to my next child? My children will all be unvaccinated.

Thanks!

Meghan

you are unfortunately, and so am I, so frustrating>> I have another friend and we just had a discussion regarding food allergies.> When her son was a week old she started giving him cereal in a baby bottle mixed with his formula, she had to cut the nipple of the bottle to make it bigger to compensate (does any of this sound like she should do it or just red flags all over?) but even though I suggested she NOT do this she had LOTS of others telling her "OH he will sleep through the night" INCLUDING her pediatrician. Well her son is now 3 and he has SERIOUS gut issues. She doesn't believe that it is connected to the baby cereal from when he was little. So, she said today " how come we can't give honey, peanut butter and strawberries

to 1 yr. olds but we can give it to them when they are 2?" I said "there body is NOT fully developed and can not take those things" she said that's not true.> I think I am surrounded by idiots> > ~Anne>
