, Awesome! Great job! Lemon heads vs cigarettes? That is awesome! Way to go. Quitting smoking and tackling the weight as well... that is a hard thing to do and you are doing so well. I am proud of you! hey brenda when i did a smoking clinic that was the techique I used. Log your butts and you will see maybe 20 % more could be cut just by changing habits. When I logged butts I realized a lot were out of habit and not need.

Thanks Shirley :) I'm down about 50% on the cigs - loving the chantix prescription. It's doing it's job. I call a call at work today from my sister - they are on vacation visiting my sisters living down south. She's in ICU though the expect she'll be out Sunday. I was able to hold off almost 3 hours before smoking. I felt much better once I was able to speak to her - she went into afib last night. The sister who she's traveling with is a paramedic so she uses terms that scare the crap out of you. But at least she knew to call the ambulance. I did have a hand full of chips but they tasted like crap. I haven't done my calories today but they shouldn't be too bad. Live, Love, Laugh

i tried logging - it was worse than logging my calories LOL - it hit me last week when I smoked 13 packs in 14 days as opposed to 25-26. I'm smoking less at the computer and in the car. Instead of 4-8 cigerettes during the work day (depending on going out for lunch or not) I'm just smoking at lunch - and 2 max. The drug really does take the edge off and keeps my mind clear. thanks - I talked to mom (she's the one who ended up in icu) today - she still sounds like crap but she is out of ICU (the heart 'righted' itself) and will released in a day or two. It'll be a few more days after that before she heads home. Live, Love, Laugh

Re: tues / wed

sorry to hear about your sister - don't understand 1/2 of what you mentioned LOL, but I'm not a medical pro either. Hugs and prayers to the family.

Sorry - I think I knew that - your sister is the one that was with her or told you about it (or something)... glad mom is out of the ICU and hopefully still doing better!

My ex slipped on the ice yesterday and split his head open... went to ER and they didn't need to stitch it, but he still had to spend the night at his sister's house "to be watched" - he takes coumadin (sp?) and they didn't want him to end up developing any bleeding issues...

What a hard thing to have to deal with. I am glad your mom's heart righted itself. That is awesome. I will keep your mom in my prayers. *hugs* Shirley __________________________________________________

Things actually got worse - she got MRSA while in the hospital - she had to stay in the hospital with iv antibotics twice a day - my sister is a perimedic so they let her go to the SC sister's house to continue the twice daily iv's. The nurse come a few times a week to check the central line etc. Mom is sounding better but I was freaking out while when I was researching MRSA. (my birthmom died in 01 from the 'flesh eating" disease, so any of those staff / strep diseases automatically put me on edge). Mom can't leave my sisters house until cleared by cardiologist and that's not until Wed.

Hope your ex has recovered :) Live, Love, Laugh"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up."– Anne Lamott
