Hi I just thought I would join this group and post my first message.

Recently via a private doctor, I did an Acume lab test for glutathione.

Total Glutathione 1.42 mmol/l (ref 1.70-2.60)

Glutathione peroxidase 48 u/gHb (ref 67-90)

There is a comment that GSH-PX is significantly low! and

Glutathione-availability is also poor.

The doctor told me that I have a BIG problem with this and I know they don't say

that for nothing and doctors normally say you are a bit high or a bit low in

something.

I have just started L-glutathione tablets at a high dose of 500 mg twice a day.

Clearly this is an expensive thing to buy and I have just ordered some from USA

to save costs.

While I am aware it is experimental and out of the NHS, Van Konynenburg,

PhD has studied this problem/hypothesis extensively and he believes that

glutathione depletion may be significant for a sub-group of ME/CFS people.

The thing is I can assume I am one of the people whom it's significant to as

mine was so low. I was wondering if anybody has tried it, or how they found it,

in terms of improving functioning.

I am also aware of the need to fully support the thyroid and adrenals, taking T4

and T3 if need-be, which I know it is important for me, as are adrenal

supplements due to low adrenal reserve.

Magnesium, Vit E and the LDN drug was also an upshot of the appointment with the

private doctor. The thyroid and adrenals is a seperate thing dealt with

elsewhere.
