A Current Affair's take on vaccination

I have to say that for A Current Affair, this was not a bad show. There were

parents talking about not wanting to vaccinate their children because of the

toxins in vaccines, mention of mercury and also of side effects. They also

said it was the most affluent and educated who were choosing not to

vaccinate - right on!

Then McIntyre (whose own vaccinated son got whooping cough a few years

ago - but of course, a much milder case because he was vaccinated!) came on

and told the party line about the side effects of the shots are nowhere near

as bad as the side effects of the diseases and yadda yadda. Then, some woman

from motherinc.com.au came on and talked about how important vaccination was

and why would any parent not vaccinate?

But the most beautiful part of the programme was Dr Mark Donohoe from Sydney

who actually raised the point about the huge increase in the number of

vaccines and also - shock horror - managed to get on the air the fact that

doctors are now being paid to push vaccines so they are no longer working

for the good of their patient but for the money. And the interviewer said

that this could be up to $12,000 a year - that has GOT to make some people

think????

Anyway, there will be a transcript on the site - but in the meantime, can

you please write to ACA - http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=115739

is where the page on this story is - and thank them for showing as much

balance as they did though it was probably not as balanced as it should have

been.

All the best,

Meryl
