Guest guest
He had one virus that wasn't named. A fever with a REALLY cranky baby who wouldn't eat, followed by a rash all over. We did go to the pedi once the rash came, and they said just a virus, not roseola. His fever never got really high either, stayed below 103. His friend that we play with alot had recently gotten the hib vax, and I'm not completely convinced that his illness didn't have something to do with that. Other than that, he's never been sick, so I guess he's healthy. He's still breastfed but does it solids - mostly whole foods. ) ~ mom to Gavin ~ 07.09.05 ~ 10 Months Old (can somebody slow him down?!?) ~ http://www.thelucastribe.com ~ KUSTOMIZED KIDS ~ http://www.cafepress.com/kustomizedkids Featuring Personalized Baby & Children's Clothing + Natural Parenting/Breastfeeding Advocacy Products ~ Visit Us on LiveJournal (ask to be my friend!) http://rachellucas6.livejournal.com Re: Disney World... Guest guest
Don't you take him out in public now? A grocery store and a cart touched by hundreds or a mall has a pretty good number of people. Why would Disney be any different? I wouldn't give it a second thought unless there was some sort of air borne epidemic happening. L. Disney World... Guest guest
I second that. If he is healthy when you leave, he'll remain so throughout as long as there are no unusual stressors to wear him down. Even then, that doesn't necessarily make him succeptible to the diseases (if exposed to them) he would have been otherwise shot with for so-called immunity. That applies to you and the rest of your family too. You'll have a wonderful time! Anita troy lucas <tlucas@...> wrote: Don't you take him out in public now? Guest guest
Yes we do take him in public, although I use a shopping cart cover (don't throw stones! LOL it was a gift, and he likes it, its nice and soft for him!) at the grocery store. He does go to the mall. I guess I just worry more about Disney world because of the massive amounts of people, at 4 different theme parks, where people touch everything (and he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth...still) ... and new people from all around the world each day, etc. I guess I'm somewhat of a germaphobe! But it really does help to hear other parents of unvaxxed kids say it doesn't worry them... reassurance I guess. Thanks for the help. ) ~ mom to Gavin ~ 07.09.05 ~ 10 Months Old (can somebody slow him down?!?) ~ http://www.thelucastribe.com ~ KUSTOMIZED KIDS ~ http://www.cafepress.com/kustomizedkids Featuring Personalized Baby & Children's Clothing + Natural Parenting/Breastfeeding Advocacy Products ~ Visit Us on LiveJournal (ask to be my friend!) http://rachellucas6.livejournal.com Disney World... Guest guest
When we travel, I put my children on sambucol by Nature's Way starting a few days before the trip and during the trip and a few days after we get home. It has worked great! Last summer, my 18 month old at the time didn't get sick when all of his cousins did. I also bring lots of different preventable measures i.e. homepathics in the event that they do get sick.Do lots of handwashing. Have a great time! Guest guest
Call me the party pooper, but I think there's alot more to worry about at Disney World than some international germs. http://www.whale.to/b/disney.html (brief) http://www.whale.to/b/sp/disney.html (lengthy) Dan

Guest guest
I have never used Airborne. However, we have used Sambucol and *love* it. I used the children's version when my baby was 3 mo. old and had runny nose. I was nursing exclusively, but apparently he got something anyhow. The Sambucol cleared it right up. We now use that during cold/flu season when things are going around. The children's version is thicker and easier to administer. It contains elderberry, propolis and echinacea. The adult version is very liquidy and is only elderberry. > > Hi Jane, I'm curious what this is? Guest guest
I don't know the answer to that. Anyone else? Would like to know since I've used/continue to use the Sambucol. > > Can elderberry be suppressive? > > Anita >
