Guest guest
My 16-month old son has been coughing quite a bit lately, along with a runny nose. I have not really been giving him anything to suppress the cough (figured it will help stuff come out). The past couple of days there have been times that he coughs really hard that he spits up quite a bit, or vomits (not sure if too strong of word). The vomit is mostly phlegm. His appetite is a little less, but I am not sure if this is just a cycle of eating less. His molars are also coming in, but otherwise he seems fine. He does not have a fever. Is there anything other than increase Vitamin C and fluids I can do to speed up the process? I do not really want to take him to the doctor, because I know I would leave with several not needed scripts. In the past, when he was slightly congested, they quickly prescribed antibiotics and prednisone (of which I never gave him). I filled them, because I was paranoid that I might get sited for neglect, since I stopped vaccinating after the four month shots.
Guest guest
How long has this been going on? If it's less than a week then you might give it more time with the fluids and C. If more than a week or you think it's getting much worse, then you should try a homeopathic remedy. I'll be the first person to tell you that finding the right remedy for a cough/cold is tough. You might want to engage the help of a homeopath if you have access to one. My toddler has had a cough with a runny nose for over two weeks now. We live in the southeastern US where it's already spring time and the pollen is really starting to take its toll on people. I think that's her problem for the moment.
