Guest guest
Yes, I agree completely. I am more than a little upset about curtailing the Yasko discussions. I can't handle any more newsgroups so maybe this is the one that will have to go. Kathy -----Original Message----- From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of bhammanuk@... Guest guest
what I dont understand is why the need to chose one or the other? Why does the existence of another group on a subject preclude discussion of that subject on this group? The discussion section of this group should be open to all topics relevant to CFS research and treatment. The moderator should only step in when the tone of the discussion is inappropriate or when topics other than research and treatment are being discussed. This group can handle multiple discussion topics. I am not a Yasko fan but this group wants to discuss Yasko I think it should be able to. I do not understand the moderators position here. yakcamp22 <yakcamp22@...> wrote: Kathy-before you quit this group to go to a Yasko only group, my two cents are that it would be a bad idea. Even tho I would like to hear more about Yasko, the last I heard from this list was that she was doing expensive testing for certain genes/gene fragments. If then the patient was found to have abnormal genetic indicators, then certain herbs or supplements were to be prescribed, specific to each case. If that is what you want to pursue instead of this list that talks about any and everything, that is up to you. I personally feel that a CFS treatment that results in substantial improvement will require more than herbs, supplements and vitamins. Dr. Yasko is not an M.D. Mike C > > Yes, I agree completely. Guest guest
Well, I am a living refutation-unless you want to argue with me about how substantial my recovery is. My health provider, is not an MD, either. The only prescription " stuff " I have ever used w. success is some antibiotics for acute infections. (Pain meds on occasion I suppose.) Those " tiny " doses of Prozac I tried years ago almost killed me. But I have been resolving one problem after another with the things you say can't help enough. Plus massage and other non-traditional treatments, plus change in diet, and lately, physical therapy in small, carefully measured steps where I decide what and how much to do. And believe me, I had a s---load of symptoms and have been sick for decades. If I had had money, it would've taken less time to get well, but here I am: pain significantly diminished digestion, eroded esophagus remarkably healed; near perfect. hardly ever nap anymore; used to be I could hardly wake up Brain; ahh, my brain! I make my life as complicated as I can these days, just for the fun of it. Memory! Focus! Concentration! Ahh. Really. I find my self thinking while in movement. Used to be impossible to solve a problem on the go. Muscle strength coming back. Flexibility increasing. RArely depresed any more. Slept 8hrs last night. Had a deep massage and did not crap out afterward. Been keeping my immunity up and any resident bugs at bay. Etc Etc. Yesterday walked a block to get a newspaper! At NINE IN THE MORNING???! Getting to church more, going to movies more, working more earning a little more, (home-based business.) EAting less and enjoying it more. No one part of it is all the way where I would like it to be, but gee.Brain is the best part. Still stiff, still obese, still slow, still get tired. (I *am* 68!) So there! Oh yeah; also am using constant prayer. Adrienne Re: Report on Yasko conference--Boston, October 7-8, ... Guest guest
Yes, Marilyn, true. It has come over a long period; since'99, mostly when I met the N.P who treated me so long for free. (Survived long enough to get on Medicare, now.) Nowadays the improvements are accelerating since I began the neurotransmitter balancing formulas, and now most recently, the P.T.. Interestingly, the first things I was led to through inner guidance in the very beginning was DLPhenylalanine and trypto. The former was such a rough ride, I am so glad it is out of my life. Adrienne Re: Report on Yasko conference--Boston, October 7-8, ... Guest guest
Adreinne, May I ask you what you did specifically about your eroded esophogus. I'm afraid it's an ongoing problem for because of a hiatel hernia. I occassionally have to resort to over the counter stuff for a few weeks and that seems to clear it up, limiting the stomach acid. My bed is at a 10 inch slant to minimize reflux and I'm very careful not to eat close to bedtime. Edy Re: Report on Yasko conference--Boston, October 7-8, ... Guest guest
Edy, I have the same hernia. I used big heap of feather pillows to elevate myself. Lower fat helped. Never used even otc pharmaceuticals. My naturopath says the problem is too little stomach acid, not too much. If the food mass needing to move along, (the chyme), is not acidified adequately, the lower sphincter that is supposed to open and let it pass wont open. It took a long time, and there is still some soreness there, but for long term the main healing agent has been Tyler's Gastric Complex. For short term discomfort, three things; licorice (DGL), aloe vera gel, and Liquid Calcium & MAg. by Innovative Natural Products. I have to eat lots of green leafies, too, to keep things moving on out. Any elimination problems make for trouble w. the esophagus. Aloe vera gel both soothes/ heals damaged tissue and promotes bowel movement. At a recent visit to my massager, I was able to lie on my back even though I still had food in my stomach from lunch. A miracle. Adrienne Re: Report on Yasko conference--Boston, October 7-8, ... Kathy-before you quit this group to go to a Yasko only group, my two cents are that it would be a bad idea. Guest guest
I dont think one or even several heated messages should be sufficient to shut down an entire topic. Why let a few ruin it for all? Much better to punish the offenders than everyone else - why not simply put them on alert or whatever it is? yakcamp22 <yakcamp22@...> wrote: Cort-if you will email my bc @ yakcamp22@..., I will forward you the answer that I received from someone who followed the Yasko thread. Apparently the moderators at that time decided the thread was becoming too heated, but I would like to hereby request that we be allowed to talk about Yasko again since we are all older and wiser!!! Actually Cort,I have your address-message coming bc. Mike C > > > > Yes, I agree completely. Guest guest
I missed the whole thing but that has been a major arena of discussion for how long? a year now? -a long time before this flare up occurred. I cant imagine that most people who discussed that topic are on moderation - that has been the single biggest topic in this message board for some time now. I think moderating people rather than the subject of the discussion itself is a good way to cool the fires and still give everyone access to this topic. kattemayo <kattemayo@...> wrote: Cort, These are questions for the Moderator. Could you please direct them to him? You seem to have missed, and not be accepting the extent of pain and resentment this issue built to. Most people posting on it ended up on Moderation. Rather than continue to try to stir it up again (Both lists have been peaceful ever since), will you please take this up with the Moderator. Thank you, Katrina > > > > > > Yes, I agree completely.
