Ditto. Please post if you attended seminar. I don't think Cheney would mind

some pre-DVD info. escaping. Really want to know how well the pig heart stuff

I just sent an email to someone I know at the DFW support group

asking about pre-DVD info. and when the DVDs would be ready. The

DVDs usually take some time. Hopefully I can get info from someone

who attended the seminar, and if I do I will post it ASAP.

I had just tried ordering the 2005 video since I just recently found

out about it, and I heard back from DFWCFIDS that the 2005 wasn't

available any longer but the 2006 should be available in about 6

weeks for about the price $18. On their website is only information

for the 2005 seminar/video, however.

I emailed the DFW CFSFm support group yesterday and just heard back

from them today. Here is what they had to say:

<<Mike, Dr. Cheney was here on Saturday and spoke for three-and-a-

half hours. It was fantastic. He did the best job yet of pacing -

there was more time for treatment info and Q & A than at any other

seminar he's done, and this is his fourth one here.

Lots of fascinating new research info and detailed info on his

current research treatment protocol.

For the first time we will be selling DVDs instead of videos. We

think we'll be able to offer both a PAL and NTSC DVD set. (Yes, to

my surprise those formats apply to DVDs as well as videos, though it

really only becomes an apparent issue with Region " 0 " DVDs, aka

Region " All " .)

I hope to post ordering info as soon as we know how much the DVD set

will cost. We hope to be able to keep the cost down, since part of

the money Marc Iverson donated for the seminar will be used to

underwrite part of the cost of the DVDs.

I'm one of the patients in Cheney's current study and am having

really good results. I'm not recovered or cured, but I have several

more hours a day now; I don't crash nearly as often and I recover

much more quickly when I do; I'm able to go to church every Sunday;

I'm even going to choir practice every Wednesday night and singing

in the choir on Sundays. I'm planning on volunteering at the high

school as a tutor in the math department where I once taught. <<<

This was exactly the kind of information I was hoping to hear (i.e. that the pig

heart product made by Atrium is doing what it was hoped it would do) and I

believe is the second report we've heard of positive results. This is really

exciting to hear. The big question now is when will this product be made

available to the public. I think I'm going to call Aeterna, Atrium's parent

company in Montreal. I've talked to a couple people there in past years and

maybe they can tell me how fast the product will come to market if and when

Cheney's study is completed and if proven successful. I will post any

information I get from them, if any. First time in a long time that I feel

Hi Steve. Is that what Cheney's current study is using, the pig

heart product? I am glad that you are optimistic, as we all should

be. If a company can make money w/ an effective CFS treatment, you

can bet that they will, and I will be glad to add to their profits.

Do you have a link to the current Cheney study/treatment? I guess

I am a little out of the recent Cheney research loop.

Hi ,

I, too am happy to hear the positive reports. ANd I do believe that Atrium will

be making the cells available, so glad you'll check that out. I bet Dr. Cheney

will address that in the lecture, too.

A couple of things to add. {I had been scheduled for the study, but had to drop

out from the Clinic right before, so just missed it}.

***There is an extensive protocol that preceded going on the heart cells, and

continued... to prepare and support the body for them.

Allot are things we discuss and take here. Probably especially detailed for the

purpose of a study/FDA approval.

***Dr. Cheney also has further

ideas for study, for the percentage that might not respond to this phase.

He talked to me about " Phenotype " . That having the disease long term can set the

Phenotype which can explain non-reponders to therapies. But as usual, he has

some plans for addressing that, too!

{ And the good report IS from a long term patient}.

I imagine he covers all of this in the lecture, and Q and A. I've gotta work in

a DVD player somehow, cause I sure want to watch the whole thing here!

Hi Mike,

Some CFS patients have been taking other cell signal factors from Atrium for

several years. And Dr. Cheney had considerable contact with them, and with the

FDA, in preparing for the study.

I don't think allot has been written about the study. But the best place to get

background on what Dr. Cheney is addressing is on the CFW support group site, in

several articles there.

You can also view a video of his June 05 lecture on his Cardiac findings on the

website of the ME Society of America. (Link is contained within the Cardiac

article). I think it would be really good preparation, although he is said to

have advanced light years ahead in the year since.
