kitchendoctor.com has suggestions that I have used. It clears the problem (for

me the referred rt shoulder blade pain, epigastric distress, sometimes diarrhea

after ingesting greasy meals, and sometimes onions).

I didn't finish that last post. The info I've found, it's important to be

certain if you have gall stones that they are no larger than a golf ball. 3

days of fasting on apple juice, on the evening of the 3rd day, virgin olive

oil, mixed with lemon juice. Drink every 15 minutes until it's gone. better

tolerated if taken thru a straw, and chilled, well chilled. Go to bed, next day

plan to stay close to home as green sludge/ small rubbery stones are passed in

bowel elimination. Malic acid in apple juice softens stones to enable them to

pass easily. I've successfully used this method several times with good

results. I've not experienced discomfort in the least with this process. At the

most, an incovenience drinking just apple juice for 3 days. Usually I have

enough episodes of pain/ discomfort from the gall bladder pain that it's not a

hard choice to make when the time comes. Personally I need to do this ever 2

or 3 years (would be better maybe every year) I'm due again. Best to do a

little research on kitchendoctor.com for full information. I hope to keep

organs in tact and free from invasive procedures as long as possible. Thus far

it's working. But it takes investing time to research and know what you are

doing.

Not me (no GB probs), but I've read really good things (on

Lymestrategies) about the protocol at: www.SensibleHealth.com

using a combo of Chinese herbal remedies

I've also read about a lemon & olive oil drink that is supposed to

work as a liver/gall bladder flush. Lots of reports from people who

use it. Even on this list - you might search the archives.

But, if I were going to try something - I would try the SensibleHealth protocol.

Good luck!

That flush really made me sick. Unless those success stories involved people w.

our disease I would really hesitate.

This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each

other, not to give medical advice. If you are interested in any treatment

discussed here, please consult your doctor.

I cannot go more than a few hrs without protein, much less fast for 3 days.

Straight carbs would make me so weak!

True, avoiding surgery is a very good thing. But wait: I just remembered; they

are using lasers I believe to break up gallstones.

And, Adrienne that's exactly why I've avoided the flushes, too.

Found out last year that there are no stones in my gallbladder, but liver's

been an issue since childhood.

Malic acids/Mg malate is something my rheumatologist put me on in 1998. I

had a very difficult time taking it and has to discontinue it. Apples and the

juice are now out of my diet as I try to avoid the sugar spikes it now

produces in this body.

The last flush I did was several years ago. I was sick then, not as sick but

still. I didn't think I could do well either with the fast, but it went OK.

I've done the flush before without the fast. It worked. But the advantage of

the malic acid is to be considered.

I've done the flush before without the fast. It worked. But the advantage of

the malic acid is to be considered. If youi have reative hypoglycemia it

wouldn't be so easy. You would know ahead of time about that, and tolerance for

the fast. I'd be a little hesitant too in your shoes. I would imagine it would

make you sick, without tolerance for the fructose. Something to think about.

For me it was well worth it as I have avaoided the surgery, which is my

intention. I have greater concern for anesthesia and removing body parts than

for the ingredients of the fast or the cleanse. Individual sensitivities,

intolerances and other concerns need to be taken into consideration for sure.

Not everyone will respond the same as me...or you.

Thanks for your word of caution. Next time I do the cleanse I'll go slowly and

keep in mind your comments. Just in case since having been more sick since the

last one may have change response I might have .
