Guest guest
Adrienne I don't do well with rice, even brown rice...I get hungry 1/2 hr after I eat it. Don't eat whole corn much, maybe once a month if that. Potatoes...are the mainstay of the " sugar Addicts " food program, but I stopped using them in April. The past several days I've had bean salad, the dressing has sugar in it. But, that's the first sugar load I've had in a very long time. I don't think I feel any worse with it than without it, but, I know there is no nutrition in it, and I really need to be sure what I put energy into digesting will at least contribute something rather than take away from what little reserve I have. It's becoming a chore just to want to eat some days...too hard to think of something to fix. I'm all about simple meals. We have gardens, a nice crop of lettuce, but when it's plentiful in the summer, I don't seem to care much for it. It's in the winter time I crave salads. Have to drag myself out for a graduation open house...must get going. Super low energy day Diane in MI
Guest guest
Diane in MI I betcha that when you add three to four tablespoons of virgin coconut oil to your diet daily, you will feel less hungry and find a difference in your energy level and brain function. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) _Re: Adrienne, sugar _ (http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJxcWNtcGs1BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzkxNTc0BG\ dycHNwSWQDMTYwMDA2MTY0NQRtc2dJZAMxMDEwODQEc2VjA2Rtc2c Ec2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE1MjM5NzU0Mw--; _ylg=1/SIG=123m7ml63/**/message/1\ 01084) Posted by: " dphf " _dphf@... _ (mailto:dphf@...?Subject= Re:%20Adrienne,%20sugar) _dphf _ (dphf) Sat Jul 8, 2006 8:59 am (PST) Adrienne I don't do well with rice, even brown rice...I get hungry 1/2 hr after I eat it. Guest guest
Read the research at _www.tropicaltraditions.com_ (http://www.tropicaltraditions.com) I incorporate virgin coconut oil it into the foods I eat and also at the recommendation of U of MI docs when I was a teen, I use it on my skin and hair where it is also absorbed. A nice snack is coconut oil, cocoa, coconut, ground nuts, a hint of mint rolled into balls and chilled and rolled into ground nut, cocoa or even sugar. Just remember coconut oil is FOOD. If there is a chance that fungal issues lurk in your bod, start on low doses and gradually increase over time to avoid the energy loss and discomfort found in herx reactions. Coconut oil does also have antifungal properties. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) _Re: Adrienne, sugar _ (http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJxMzJoZWltBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzkxNTc0BG\ dycHNwSWQDMTYwMDA2MTY0NQRtc2dJZAMxMDExNjMEc2VjA2Rtc2c Ec2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE1MjQ5MjQyOA--;_ylg=1/SIG=12300t01t/**http://groups.yah oo.com/group//message/101163) Posted by: " dphf " _dphf@... _ (mailto:dphf@...?Subject= Re:%20Adrienne,%20sugar) _dphf _ (dphf) Sun Jul 9, 2006 2:37 pm (PST) MJH I didn't get that much in a day when I did use it, but quit because I didn't notice any improvement in energy levels. Guest guest
Adrienne Virgin coconut oil does not spoil. It is shelf stable and does not need refrigeration. How do you think natives of equatorial areas where coconut oil's been used for hundred of years stored the stuff without refrigeration? mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) _Re: Adrienne, sugar _ (http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJxbzhhbmtnBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzkxNTc0BG\ dycHNwSWQDMTYwMDA2MTY0NQRtc2dJZAMxMDExNzEEc2VjA2Rtc2c Ec2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE1MjQ5MjQyOA--;_ylg=1/SIG=1233nfar6/**http://groups.yah oo.com/group//message/101171) Posted by: " Adrienne G. Also: is it ok to cook with it or does that spoil it? It is so expensive, I would hate to waste it. Adrienne ----- Original
Guest guest
Sara The sale that ends tonight is for gallons of expeller pressed coconut oil. I am going to order this so thanks for reminding me. To consume therapeutic amounts of coconut oil, remember that 2 T = 1 ounce and that there are 128 ounces to a US gallon, so a gallon ought to last a bit more than a couple of months. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) Tropical Traditions has periodic sales, and that's always the best time to buy. Yes, you absolutely can cook with it (it's wonderful to fry in -- it can take a lot of heat, and the stuff comes out sweet and crispy). Tropical Traditions has periodic sales, and that's always the best time to buy. Also, it goes farther than you might think: I bought four one-quart jars back in February, and we're still only working on the second one -- even though I take 2 T every morning (it goes in a morning smoothie with frozen and fresh fruit, probiotic yogurt, a little juice, and a scoop of RenewPro) and also cook with it 1-2 times/week. Funny thing: I didn't handle the stuff at all well at first. The reaction was just too intense. But since my GSH levels have come up, my body seems very happy to have it now. It does great things for appetite control and muscle tone, too. Sara

Guest guest
Thanks for your answers. I just bought a gallon of the virgin oil. I have been wanting to say that I am enjoying your presence on this forum. I like your attitude, thank you.
