So I re-read my email debated sending it - sent it any way - sorry if it was too long and then I ACTUALLY GOT OFF MY BUTT!

For the past 45 minutes or so I sweated - I only made about 10-12 minutes on the bike (I need new batteries) and forgot to look at the clock but I made it almost to commercial. Then I pulled out 2 mile walk (1 mile hasn't surfaced since the move) - ok that kicked my butt - I made 4 minutes. Ok defeat but I pressed on - after all I have a whole video cabinet of RS and a few from others. So I grabbed RS stomache video - 7 minutes 7 days a week - yeah right I made 3 minutes. Ok it's been MONTHS since I've exercised. Now I'm feeling down - I grab another video - my old stand by RS love to stretch. I did the whole 23 minutes - sweated soooo much.

Oh yeah did I mentioned that in the new apartment the dining room has a half wall mirror running the width of the room on it? So I've discovered that when I ride the bike - my belly flops every which way and my thighs are huge! With the videos I only catch occasional glimpses. It's like my own personal gym hell. I haven't decided if that's motivation or depression!!!

off to shower and then to bed! Live, Love, Laugh

Oh .... I so know what you are going though! It's ok that you can't do all that exercise again just yet. When its been awhile since you have done it you have to build your time back up. You're doing great for starting again. I know some of you are tired of hearing this but when I started I could only go for about 5 minutes and thought I was gonna die. And to this day I still cannot do more then 2 minutes on that blasted mini trampoline. And I did some workout videos that had me sweating more then anything else. But if you stick to it it will get easier. Your endurance will sky rocket. But really look at what you did. It sounds like a good workout to me. You kept saying it kicked your butt. You didn't stick with one thing but add up your total time. Sounds good to me. And one more thing....my exercise bike sits in the living room but straight in front of me is my bedroom doorway. And straight across from it is my dresser with a big mirror on it. When I get on my bike I see myself for the whole time period if i look straight ahead. I see my belly rolls and more then anything my boobs bouncing like they trying to jump off me. My butt sticking to the sides of the seat. But I say use it as motivation! I have got me a sports bra and use that mirror to remind me to put some more effort out. I'll see me going slower or sitting stiff. I then get my arms to swinging and feet pumping more. You're doing great! It does get better:)

Oh, I feel ya there. I had been riding the stationary bike at the Y

for quite a while when we went on vacation and I saw myself in the

hotel gym (huge full wall mirror). I was mortified--how many people

had seen that at the Y? Then I figured that you know, at least I'm

trying to get into better shape, so decided it wasn't really worth

worrying about. :)

Anyway, great job, !

I'm going to use that mirror for motivation and not disgust :) I pass that mirror going to the kitchen and see how fat I am - that doesn't bother me much but to see the fat a flying ..... talk about incentive! Live, Love, Laugh

That's great!! I don't have any big mirrors in my house - just the bathroom one. I just had b/f email me a pic from when I was in CA last time and it's cool! I've lost a lot of weight (ok almost 30 lbs) - I need to see if he has one of me closer to my "before" weight and then I will post them.... I hate pictures of me, but knowing that there's a difference is better.

> I only made about 10-12 minutes on the bike

I don't remember if I mentioned before vacation or not that we got an

exercycle. One of our neighbors was tossing it out - her now-deceased

husband used it and she wants nothing to do with it. It's the old fashioned

kind so no electronic gizmos and took a bit of cleaning up, but it's almost

exactly like the one I got rid of when we moved to FL and is all that I

need. I can get up to 15 - 20 minutes before my butt goes numb and I have to

get off and finish up with a good stretch. I didn't know how badly I missed

the exercycle until I got this one. I have a whole pile of Videocycle VHS

tapes that I held on to, just in case. Now to work myself up to them again

(30 minutes and up).

>Then I pulled out 2 mile walk

I only managed to finish the 2 mile tape a handful of times in the past. I

bought a 3-mile one on sale a few months ago but haven't dared go near it

yet. That's something else I have to build myself up to.

>Ok it's been MONTHS since I've exercised. Now I'm feeling down

If I've been away from exerise for a while, like after one of my many

injuries flares up again, I start out real slow. The first few days I might

only be able to manage some simple stretching and barely ,ake it through

's Stretchin' to the Classics video (15 minutes). Once I can do that

without exhausting (or re-injuring) myself, I pop in one of the Sweatin' tot

he Oldies ones, do a few songs, then fast forward to the cool-down song for

a total of 15 to 20 minutes. Once I can do *that* easily again, I can drag

out my videos and most of my other tapes and do about a half

hour total. But ti takes *weeks* to build up to that point again.

> Oh yeah did I mentioned that in the new apartment the dining room has a

half wall mirror running the width of the room on it?

ACK!!!!

> So I've discovered that when I ride the bike - my belly flops every which

way and my thighs are huge!

Ed laughed the first time he saw me use this exercycle. I'm about the same

weight as when I last had one, but thanks to gravity the blubber has shifted

downward over the years. As I pedalled, the belly would flop and the knees

would hit the boobs. Not a pretty sight, but at least I entertained my hubby

for a while.

> It's like my own personal gym hell. I haven't decided if that's motivation

or depression!!!

Definitely depression for me! I have one mirror in the living room, but

thankfully it's a short one that catches only the upper half of people when

they're standing, so I can't see it when exercising on the bike, only the

top half when doing other workouts. Some days when I feel especially

depressed I just cover it up.

LOL Sue!! That's great!! When I read the "butt going numb" comment reminded me of your cement thong comments this summer (maybe that was Ann).... but I couldn't quit laughing.
