Also you may want to check with a local seamstress - the one at a bridal butique we were looking at was willing to make my maid of honor dress for about the same cost as the dresses there.

Heya ladies.I got engaged today (I'm oh so casual about it, neh? ) I need a wedding dress! I can't afford much. Maybe 50 or so. I need a size 30/32 wedding dress in acasual style! Needs to be someplace that will ship quick - we're talking about November! SulaBlue

That's exciting Sula! Congrats!! WOW, November, eh? When I bought a wedding dress, I paid less than $150... the shop had a "discount" section... look around, maybe consignment or something like that....

I just recently found a neat group called Freecycle. You can post things

you don't need anymore, and other people can claim them. Or, atleast in

my local Freecycle, you can ask for needed things. You might want to see

if there's a Freecycle in your area. The web addy is www.freecycle.org.

Well, actually, we're pretty far along on the

planning, amazingly enough!

I've found a dress I like (But I'd like to see more in

this price range!) at

We purchased our rings yesterday and mine has been

sent off for sizing.

I've chosen my matron of honor, he's chosen his best

man and, assuming a friend of ours can make it back

from Iraq at the right time - we know who will perform

the ceremony.

We have a couple of people in mind for the

photography.

We have a semi-solid idea of where we want to have it

(A local BBQ place that backs to a beautiful lake, who

would also cater the reception @ $20/person)

We're not having a slew of bridesmaids or groomsmen,

and I've no objections to my friend wearing a dress

she wore when she was the matron of honor at another

friend's wedding (I'm trying to keep this low-budget

for everyone involved!) so, that pretty much set my

color choice for the wedding party - and just so

happens to match a new mauve shirt that my BF bought

the other week. He'll need to get a suit jacket,

however.

So, all in all, we're doing fairly OK
