Guest guest
Hi Pam, yes we are in the same position too with low normal RBC glutathione, but from what Rich has said I am not sure if we should be trying to increase our glutathione or not as there MAY be something wrong with our GST enzymes. So if we tried to up our glutathione levels would that not pose a problem as we wouldn't be able to utilize it properly? Rich, if you have a spare minute (don't suppose you have many of those! By the way the news about the autism/CFS work is brilliant), could you please tell us what the situation is with this? Should we be trying to increase our glutathuione levels or not? Guest guest
Hi Pam, I don't know about suppositories. But lipoceutical glutathione can be obtained from Phytoscience Ltd. 01506 847 040. www.gshnow.com I've been on it a while and think it is helping. One thing though - it smells like rotten eggs. Cheers, Carol > > Hi all > > Are we able to get hold of things like glutathione suppositories in > the UK? Be interested to know the dosages you have taken. I will also get a clothes peg handy!! Best Wishes Pam

I have just started TMG - it is contained in a supplement that Higher Nature do to lower homocysteine and it should help with the methylation process and we should then end up with more glutathione (at least I think that is the science). The video by Jill mentioned Folinic Acid as essential to helping the methylation cycle but I don't know if we can get hold of that in the UK so I take around 800 of folic acid instead together with sublingual B12 daily. Guest guest
Hi Pam, I take 1 teaspoonful a day and that is what I started with. I've heard of people taking more but it would be too expensive. Guest guest
Hi, Sheila. Yes, I think it would be a good idea to try to raise your glutathione level. There won't be any problem in doing this if your glutathione transferase enzymes have SNPs. It can only help. Glutathione is able to act without the help of enzymes to some degree, so raising it is a good thing to do. Guest guest
Many thanks for the reply Rich. Do you know if there is a lab over here in the UK testing for SNP's ? It would be so good to be able to find out what SNP's we are dealing with... Is there anything else you can take if you do have the glutathione transferase SNP's? With my thanks, BW, Sheila > > > > Hi Pam, yes we are in the same position too with low normal RBC > > glutathione, but from what Rich has said I am not sure if we > should be > > trying to increase our glutathione or not as there MAY be something > > wrong with our GST enzymes. Guest guest
Hi Pam, many thanks for your reply. Yes we have been looking into the autism thing, got the book watched the videos but because we had the normal levels of GSH we have n't been putting so much weight on looking into that as we thought that meant our methylation cycle was functioning OK but that seems to be wrong as Rich has said we should be trying to increase GSH more so we will try that. Wish we could get the SNP's test to see what we are dealing with. We've been concentrating on getting our levels of supplements for AT/mitos up first. Also I am waiting for my DNA adducts test results, due soon. By the way you can get folinic acid I think from theNutricentre in London, Kirkman is the brand, and if not you can send off the the US and get it direct from them. I think people can have problems with converting folic acid to folinic acid so it is best to try to get the folinic acid in case that is a problem. Guest guest
Hi Pam/Rich/Sheila, This all makes complete sense except that in my case, despite having very dodgy ATP function test via Dr Myhill I have a very good methylation ability assuming that homocysteine level is an appropriate indicator. When that was measured (albeit in 2003) it was 5.9 - in the 'superhealthy' category. Perhaps, that being the case I would derive even greater benefit from GSH, as the mechanism is already in place? Rosie Hi Pam, many thanks for your reply.
