I actually think there is a place for n3 fatty acids in nutrition and health

but I still think that is an area that is over " hyped " . Alot of what you

read about fish oils talk about suppression of inflammation via PLA2 - for me

Im more interested in getting to the root of the inflammation and reversing

this!

Over the last year I have more and more respect for Glutathiones role in

health and Im now exploring the different ways it can be boosted ie

Whey protein Isolate

Turmeric

Selenium

Milk Thistle

Vitamin C , magnesium , zinc.

The root of it as you say could just be in some people a lack of N3 fatty acids.

How much

fish do most people, especially in the US, eat? Not much is my guess,

especially with

concerns over mercury and other toxicity issues, and the artificial colors added

to farmed

fish.

I'm with you -- I always have believed there is a reason or cause or causes for

everything.

In some cases, they could be dietary.

Dan

p.s. As an example, there's a book written by Bartosy, on how he

recovered from

CFS. He did some antibiotics for an infection, but his health didn't improved

until he

raised, slowly but surely, his EFA levels. He has been well for over 6 years

now. A web

search will turn up his story and his book is available as far as I know...

I have been down the Essential fatty acid root before and know some guys who

worked closely with Dr Horrobin - but it isnt the answer as it may help to

lower PLA2 but will not get to the root. The root cause of CFS for me - is

Glutathione depletion - Im very surprised people havent focused on raising

Glutathione on a daily basis.

CS,

I went down the essential fatty acids route too, spent a year diligently

supplementing, reading Horribins work, I do remember Bartosy, and all the others

in that EFA camp. It did nothing to cure my cfs, later when I was tested for

EFA's I was waaaay toooo high from all the supplementing and come to find out

later, other tests show I can't even burn fatty acids anyway. So supplementing

can get one in trouble too, everything we take is not always 'harmless'.

I have raised my glutathione status for over 2 years now and now have normal

levels but it hasn't really helped my condition much at all. Killing

borreliababesia is the only thing that seems to make a difference to me.

Though I think the glutathione is supportive in this process at least

Hi

I have looked into different pathways to raise my glutathione and this is

where my condition has turned a corner rapidly ie besides Whey protein isolate (

12 months ) , Ive now added turmeric ( this was the turning point ) , Vit C

, magnesium, zinc and I will be adding -Selenium and Milk thistle.

****Hi

Apart from the obvious ie boosting glutathione, killing off pathogens,

improving adrenals and improving gut function. Plain butter and olive oil seems

to have worked best - I have my own ideas why this is.

My Regime ( as a maintenance I use : 1, 4, 5)

1) HEAVY METALS & THYROID - Raise Glutathione via Whey Protein Isolate,

Vitamin C, Magnesium, Zinc, Turmeric, Garlic, Milk thistle, Selenium

2) PARASITES/FUNGAL/BACTERIAL - Lactoferrin / Coconut oil / Manuka Honey

3) ADRENALS - Salt / Licorice

4) DIGESTION - Probiotics with Citrus Pectin / Bromelain enzyme

5) NUTRITION - Plant extract antioxidants / Plant extract detox/ Co Q10

/ Multi vits

DIET - no wheat/ limited dairy / limited fruits / Butter/ Sunflower

seeds / Green Veggies / Salad/ Rice / Yoghurt / Plant extracts
