1 year follow up, Barium swallow, Sigmoid shape E

Hellloooo all my fellow achalasians!! I hope this friday finds

everyone in good spirits!! Well, just got back from seeing my surgeon,

1 year post-op. I had a barium swallow, and I have to say, that out of

all the tests they put us through, this one is the best!! No tubes

going in places they shouldn't go, love it!! Ok, so, looks like I get

to joing the sigmoid shaped gang. This is what the swallow showed, and

it didn't look good to me at all. The techs who did the swallow saw my

E and they both kind of looked at each other like, " holy cow! " Very

slow to empty as well. i didn't get to lay down and drink, because

there was no room for the barium to go. The surgeon said that this is

just how my E is going to be, he doesn't expect it to get any worse

over time, but that doesn't seem right to me. I go back in a year to

see him. Any thoughts on a Sigmoid shaped E not changing over time?
