Guest guest
I am sorry the barium swallow went so poorly. I feel bad about telling you the test would be okay. I had had such good luck with barium swallows that it didn't think you would run into problems. I have no idea about the blood. I would call your doctor to ask if he hasn't already discussed it with you. Let us know what he says. Vicki > > Can I tell you that was awful .. Guest guest
oh Vicki , Not your fault you didn't know it would be that way.. I see the Dr. on monday , they called it seems they did find reflux , but the blood hadn't been in the report , it was alot or I would not be at all worried about it , maybe it was just a little blood vessel break but when your not used to seeing quite that much blood it get's concerning..I will let you know what the Dr. says thanks for your support and concern, I appreciate it very much. Guest guest
, I understand your concern about the blood. Hopefully, it will just be something minor. Good luck Monday. Guest guest
- My thoughts are with you. Like Vicki, I too feel bad that I told you that the Barium swallow was no big deal. Take care and I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing the bleeding. Guest guest
Andy, The granules, with thier fizz is to " open things up " in the esophagus. I think that's why some people use carbonated drinks to help get things to go down. I don't know anything about the injection, though. in Michigan > > Hi all > Got my appointmant thro' for the barium swallow as a follow up to the > endoscopy I had just over a week ago. It is used so that some structures are easier to see. notan
Guest guest
Andy, the granules produce gas in the stomach. I had a manometry and it did not show achalasia- but I find it difficult to drink fizzy drinks myself, but had no problems getting these down. I believe the tech gave me a small glass of water or perhaps a little barium to wash them down.
