Guest guest
I just wanted to write a quick note to let you all know that vitamin B works for me. I'm 26 years old and was diagnosed with achalasia about 5 years ago. When I was fist diagnosed I was given the 'balloon treatment', which lasted a few months, but then all the pain and throwing up came back. I was put on calcium channel blockers, but eventually my body became immune to them and they too stoped working. I was seeing a chiropractor for a few years who specialises in the digestive system. He was working on regenerating my nerves and relaxing my stomach muscle. He was great, but I found a day or two after my visits all the pain and throwing up came back again, so I increased my visits… which was costing me a fortune! A few months ago I hit rock bottom. I was trowing up at least a few days a week and was feeling nauseous all the time, not to mention the pain factor had increased. There were some days I would throw up all day, which would make me dehydrated, but I couldn't even keep down a glass of water. I lost 10kgs in 2 months! I decided to surf the web for answers, which is when I can across a website started by a man in Germany who had been living with achalasia for 15 years. He had pinched a nerve in his back and lost partial feeling in his feet – due to a ski accident. Doctors recommended he take vitamin B's as they help with nerve function. He noticed once he started taking vitamin B's his achalasia went away, so he put it out there for others to test. It has been 2 weeks now since I started taking the vitamins and I have not thrown up since nor do I feel nauseous anymore!!!! There is the occasional day where I feel the `tightness' while eating, but the pain is nowhere near as bad as it use to be. I can honestly say that vitamin B's are working for me!!! I cant remember the last time eating and drinking was so easy! My quality of life is 100% better than before. I would be interested to see if the vitamins work for other achalasia victims, or if we are the rear two. I bought my vitamins from the supermarket, basically all that is recommended is vitamin B1, B2, B6 & B12 (50gms of each)… You can buy a mixed vitamin pack that has all these plus other vitamins in the one pill, so you only need the one pack… Just read the ingredients at the back and make sure all the B vitamins above are in there at 50gms each. If anyone does try this, let me know how you go! I'd be interested to hear the outcomes!!

Guest guest
Hi , Good luck with the Vit B regimen! Because we eat so badly most of us are short of Vit B in particular. It is a battle to swallow pills and if you only have to swallow one pill it is not so bad but those combination pills are usually the biggest ones. , you can try and cover them in Margarine or butter to help them slip down. There are also chewable ones and powders which you dissolve in water. I have not found any that I can have that do not contain milk sugar. The chewable one I found is still quite acid as well. Why must they always put orange or lemon flavours in everything ! Joan. Vitamin B the answer I just wanted to write a quick note to let you all know that vitamin B works for me. Guest guest
There are also sublingual B vitamins, that work like Nitro -- put under the tongue and dissolved. Guest guest
I have been taking a B-Complex 50 pill (along with other vitamins )for years and firmly believe in vitamin B for many things. It is seven years ago I was diagnosed with achalasia and had the surgery 6 years ago and have never looked back. Who knows perhaps the vitamin B Complex pill is one of the reasons my surgery was so successful. The B-Complex contains all the B vitamins you listed and there is also a B-100 which is just double the amount of the 50, however the Vitamin store which I deal with says the B-50 is adequate for most. All the best to fellow achalasians. , Vancouver B.C. -- Vitamin B the answer I just wanted to write a quick note to let you all know that vitamin B works for me.
