Guest guest
Hi all, I was watching Good Morning America today with my mom. They had a report on the increase of Esophageal cancer in the US. They said especially in men, it has increased about 400% in the past 20 yrs. Some doctors attribute this to the liberal use of H2 Blockers like pepcid, prevacid, Prilosec etc.. Most attribute it to the increase of GERD. Anyway, my mom told me that when I was diagnosised with Achalasia the doctors told her it was because I had taken Dilantin (for seizures) at an early age (2-9) and that had damaged the esophagus. I did not remember hearing that. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else in this group has ever taken medication like Dilantin or Tegretol. Now days they tell people to take it with food, but in my day (geez I am getting old) they did not do that, as a matter of fact I took it 4 times a day including midnight so you know I did not take it with food. Just sorta wondering out loud. Any thoughts? J.C. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
