Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to get my daughters medication in her when she doesn't understand the concept of why she needs to take it. She currently takes 10 depakote pills a day and 2 risperdal and 2 lemictal. We are having some luck with the risperdal and the lemictal with feeding her M & M's and throwing in the medication and that works 75% of the time but the depakote sprinkle capsules are the big issue. We were opening them up and putting them in yogurt for a while then peanut butter with crackers but she is getting smart to this hiding technique and is spitting everything out. I don't blame her as they are not the best tasting. We then switched over to the Valproic syrup but that is just not working either. She won't drink it in juice and will not take it along. We have tried a syring, a straw, cup and we have had no luck. The depakote pills are huge so that won't work either. She is 16 but her cognitive level is more arount a 2-3 year old. I would appreciate any imput if anyone has had a similar issue and found something that would help. Thank you.
