It's not the spikes, but chronically high blood sugar results in glycation of proteins; " advanced glycation " accelerates oxidative damage by up to a factor of 50. Many doctors call diabetes a disease of accelerated aging because of the glycation. Again this has little to do with cholesterol levels except that a little more cholesterol is near by to experience that free radical damage. And again, plaque was analysed to contain 74% unsaturated and polyunsaturated food oils that are easily oxidized, the 26% balance being debris, cholesterol, calcium, scar tissue, unoxidized trapped saturated fat etc. > > > what all people with heart disease have in common is > > NOT cholesterol levels but OXIDATIVE STRESS and the plaque blocking > > their arteries is primarily oxidized vegetable oil.... > > Oxidation kills regardless of cholesterol levels. > > What do you think are the best ways to prevent/heal clogged > arteries? BlockBuster All Clear, which contains serrapeptase and nattokinase, can restore microciculation in just days; some experienced this in just 48 hours. Very useful in angina, heart disease and peripheral arterial disease, blood coagulation and organ fibrosis, adhesions and endometriosis. http://www.goodhealth.nu/us/1400 > (How can we prevent such oxidation?) > reduce vegetable oil intake and don't heat vegetable oils? Yes, reduce inflammatory vegetable oils, use EPA and DHA, make sure your antioxidant levels, particularly glutathione, do not become depleted. Also, as mentioned above, reduce carbs that cause the inexorable glycation.

Much easier said than done as many processed foods contain these. Use only coconut or palm oils for cooking. Most importantly, coconut oil will clear clogged arteries. Take at least 4 tbsp per day to unclog them and 1-2 tbsp per day as a preventative.

Guest guest
, thanks for the reply, but atherosclerosis *reversal, far from a mountain of data, did not come up at all with either a Google or a PubMed search, although there was data that incidates atherosclerosis *risk could be reduced with cococonut oil just as it is with fish oil. That doesn't mean evidence for your claim does not exist at all, but Bruce Fife cites facts, so if it's in his book I should have been able to find his cite also in the peer-reviewed work. Can you please relate the passage in his book and the reference he gives if there is one? So far, the claim that coconut oil *reverses atherosclerosis is at best a potentially dangerous marketing claim to make if untrue, especially given the poor prognosis of untreated atherosclerosis. Even treated, atherosclerosis reversal is elusive. This recent review comments, " difficulties to determine unequivocally whether with a given therapeutic intervention, such as diet, drugs, or apheresis, the progression of lesions was curtailed or bona fide regression of atherosclerotic lesions was achieved " , indicates the difficulty in backing up such a claim; even with direct lipid-lowering creations, " the extent of regression of lesions in the coronary arteries was disappointingly low " . < http://atvb.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/21/2/183 > So, I propose a case for coconut in this role would be better stated as: Risk of creating atherosclerosis can be reduced with coconut and other specific oils. > > > > > > , can you please direct us to the data on coconut oil clearing > > clogged arteries? > > > > > > > > A good source of info is " The Healing Miracles of Coconut Oil " by > Bruce Fife. Guest guest
Coconut oil is very high in cholesterol. Guest guest
Coconut oil, being a plant product, can not contain cholesterol, and the short-chain and medium-chain triglycerides in it don't require cholesterol to rise to transport it either. So, coconut oil as a replacement oil has the effect of reducing cholesterol levels. Guest guest
I have read that coconut oil is also helpful for people with cancer to take, and is a cancer preventative. Anyone else heard that? I do not like the taste of coconut oil, but if it has such excellent properties, I expect I could get used to it!
