Guest guest
I was at the health food store in Brighton over the weekend and the worker there told me about a doctor in Ann Arbor that is a M.D. that she refers people since he uses natural remedies. His name is Dr. New. His site is http://bioenergymedicalcenter.com/pages/consultation.html He accepts insurance and doesn't make you pay first. Also, may collaborate on this but last I knew, N.D.s are not licensed in the state of Michigan to write prescriptions. My brother has a clinic in Hawaii which is a licensed state. Also, your area is full of alternative doctors. You may be able to find a M.D. in your area also. I used to read a magazine found at health food stores called PhenomeNews and most advertising in there from doctors came from you area. Kathy T. Guest guest
If you order the Lugol's from the ebay supplier, even with shipping it's probably less than your co-pay would be. I don't recommend trying to get it through your doctor, just because so few of them have any clue about iodine and proper supplementation protocol. It's like 12-13 dollars for 4 oz of Lugol's. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lugols-solution-4-fl-oz-2-2-iodine- /320674963885?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item4aa9b7a1ad I have purchased from this seller numerous occasions, including the raw materials to make my own Lugol's. If that link is broken, just copy it into your browser and delete the extra characters at the line end. -- > > I went to a local compounding pharmacy in Michigan to inquire about > ordering Lugol's 5% iodine solution. > > They said they can order eith 14ml or 16oz sizes. Guest guest
You don't actually HAVE to have a prescription for 2%, it's just that they are telling you that you have to, as most pharmacies are doing. And I'm even doubtful whether an insurance company would pay for it at all, regardless, because it's actually OTC and 16 oz is a lot more than 3 months worth. But I do recommend that you buy the 4oz from the ebay seller. It will last quite a long time and it's a small outlay. I really don't think you're going to get satisfaction with trying to find a doctor who will prescribe this for you, meanwhile you could be taking iodine and your health benefiting. -- On 12 Sep 2011 at 18:49, rbhanot1 wrote: > Can you order from recommended sites withOUT prescription a 16oz size? > > The Michigan pharmacy quoted me $47 for $16oz but need prescription. > > Thanks, > > RK > > > > > > How about just ordering some from the recommended sites > > OR switching doctors? > > > > > > " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by > > the way its > > animals are treated " > > Mahatma Gandhi > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: rbhanot1 <rbhanot1@...> > > iodine > > Sent: Mon, September 12, 2011 11:06:02 AM > > Subject: How do I get a prescription for Lugol's 5%? > > > > > > Hi, > > > > I went to a local compounding pharmacy in Michigan to inquire about > > ordering Lugol's 5% iodine solution. > > > > They said they can order eith 14ml or 16oz sizes. Guest guest
Thanks for your input. We are currently taking iodoral which is quite expensive compared to Lugol's 5% solution. Btw, no one ask prescription for 2% but they are asking prescription for 5%. In fact, the pharmacy does not even have 16oz size in 2%, only in 5% for $47 dollars. No copay etc, the total for 5% iodine size 16oz is $47 which is pretty cheap and I am happy to pay it. Regarding 2% (or 2.2%), I may end up buying from ebay (risingsun health) company which sells 1 liter (32oz) 2.2% Lugol's solution plus 5 one oz glass dropper bottles for about $81, free shipping. It is almost double price because 1 liter of 2% is about 16oz of 5% solution.....$81 vs $47. I will do little more research before buying. Btw, I live close to Canada border and it Canada you can order 5% Lugol's solution for $40 from almost any pharmacy withOUT prescription. But the problem is customs/borders may not allow it to be brought to US. I wonder if there may be penalities for brining it too. Guest guest
My advice is to: A) Make your own Buy online C) Buy Iodoral online Doctors who provide rx for iodine are going to cost you a lot to get into and are not covered by insurance. If you need other help then it would be worth it but just for iodine - that's a little more difficult. Guest guest
I really don't agree with sending people to the lugols.com website when it's so expensive. But if people want a name brand, that's one place to buy it. I have also found better prices for the same brand on Amazon. At lugols.com, a 16 oz bottle of 2% is $90.00 including shipping. 4oz bottle of 2% is $14.00 including shipping from ebay. I need to buy things at the best price, so I choose the ebay sources. To repeat, there are two sellers on ebay that I trust. I would not buy from anyone else. I have seen sellers spouting lies about iodine, which really makes me uncomfortable with their products. Sellers I'm comfortable with: the_full_orchestra nassauconnection -- On 12 Sep 2011 at 17:12, Alison Trotta-Marshall wrote: > > > > Buy it here: > > http://www.lugols.com/ > > or iodoral here: > > http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/iodineindex.html > > ali > On Sep 12, 2011, at 4:20 PM, ladybugsandbees wrote: > > > > My advice is to: > > A) Make your own > Buy online > C) Buy Iodoral online > > Doctors who provide rx for iodine are going to cost you a lot to get > into and are not covered by insurance. Guest guest
I have purchased the raw ingredients from the same seller on ebay I recommended the liquid Lugol's from. I previously posted on how to find the seller, the_full_orchestra, on ebay. Below the seller's name in the upper left corner is a link to " see seller's other items " . Then you'll be able to see the raw minerals for purchase. I don't make anything from this recommendation, btw. It's just that it's not that easy to find the raw ingredients and I've purchased from him and know that it is trustworthy. -- On 13 Sep 2011 at 16:11, rbhanot1 wrote: > Hi , > > Quote: > -------------------------------- > My advice is to: > > A) Make your own > Buy online > C) Buy Iodoral online > -------------------------------- > > Q: How and where do I get the ingredients (USP grade or higher) for > making my own Lugol's 5% iodine solution? > > Thank you, > > RK > > > > > > > I am guessing you are in MI. Guest guest
No, it's legal to have 5% or 7% or even 10%, but only 1 oz at a time can be shipped in each package. -- On 13 Sep 2011 at 10:36, barbara wrote: > > I was suprised to see they offered 5% Lugols at the site, and ordered > one bottle, and the order went through, I just received shipping > confirmation. Guest guest
Hi , I have checked the seller and looks trustworthy. I was not able to find the quality/grade of the materials offered. Do you know if his ingredients are USP grade or higher? Thank you, RK > > > > > > I am guessing you are in MI. What part of MI? Guest guest
yes I do. That seller, and the one called NassauConnection (who does NOT sell raw ingredients for Lugol's) have both personally assured me that their ingredients are ACS, which is the highest grade available, higher than USP. I have bought these raw ingredients myself and the minerals are beautiful, sparkling clean and pure looking. I have been using the homemade Lugol's using those ingredients from that seller for more than a year. I'm a picky person and I'm satisfied. -- On 13 Sep 2011 at 23:48, rbhanot1 wrote: > Hi , > > I have checked the seller and looks trustworthy. > > I was not able to find the quality/grade of the materials offered. Guest guest
Good to know. Thanks for clarification on ACS vs. USP. I was under the impression that USP is higher than ACS because I thought ACS is for lab use while USP is for food/medicine use. Thanks, RK > > > > I have purchased the raw ingredients from the same seller on ebay I > > recommended > the liquid Lugol's from. Guest guest
Q1: How does someone find out if raw ingredients (iodine, potsssium iodide) sold on ebay are natural or synthetic (made in factories)? Q2: How can we find out the source of where the iodine came from? Thanks, RK > > > > I have purchased the raw ingredients from the same seller on ebay I > > recommended > the liquid Lugol's from.
