Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I haven't posted before but I have been looking at the forum since I went to see the lovely Dr. P in August. I have been on 100mcg Levothyroxine for about 6 years with 12 years of symptoms such as hair loss, constipation, exhaustion and pain before that without a diagnosis. My worse symptom is severe muscle and joint pain and stiffness. I can only walk with the aid of a stick and find it difficult to bend. Dr. P suggested continuing the thyroxine after a 10 day break and slowly building up to adding 4 Nax, 4 Nutri Thyroid, 4000 Vit C, 100 CoQ10, and ginseng and liquorice and after 6 weeks to add in T3. I started on 12.5 T3 and increased to 37.5 over 2 weeks but my pulse went up to 98 and I felt worse than before. Tired and in extreme pain. Dr. P is fully booked up for telephone appointments until December. My question is that looking at my test results (pre August) do you think my adrenals may still be too weak for the T3 as yet or might I need some hydrocortisone to get them working quicker. I also added in some iron and vit e after my iron test came back. My temperatures are all over the place ranging from 35.8 to 36.9 but my basal temperature is usually 36.4 to 36.6. My GP thinks I have just general aches and pains associated with the ageing process but as I am only 62 and have been like this for 18 years I think I will be parting company with him soon!!!
