Guest guest
Hi Isabel Just thought I would add to this info from my own experience as well as the experience of a friend of mine. I kept getting symptoms of UTI's (as my friend did) but often the urine tests did not show signs of infection. My friend had spent over a year attending GP's, urologist and Gynae specialist. To cut a long story short the urologist concluded that these symptoms were caused by the thinning of the oestrogen-dependent lining of the outer urethra. He prescribed oestrogen cream - " Ortho-Gynest " She initially applied this a couple of times a week and now rarely needs to use it - it did the trick. I used " Replens " a non-hormonal oestrogen free product and it worked for me. Apparently this is a very common problem when we reach the menopause as the collagen level of our skin becomes thinner as our hormone levels fall. Hope this helps, and you are not feeling over loaded with suggestions! Han
