Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... $20 gift card to take a survey researching sibling issues My name is Keri and I am a doctoral student at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology. I have a special interest in sibling issues. I spent a year and a half doing Verbal Behavior ABA home therapy for children with autism and the effect it had on the siblings of these children was always of special interest to me. Therefore I have decided to do my dissertation on coping processes of sibs of people diagnosed with PDD. THis is where you come in I need participants to take a survey about coping processes. The survey includes some demographic information, the survey itself, and some questions at the end- it should take about 20-30 minutes. In addition to this after I have completed my research I will send out a link with my results. The first 25 people to respond will receive a $20 visa gift certificate. All you have to do to receive this, is email me at Ker1227aol (DOT) com with your name and address after you have completed the survey and I will send it off. This way your name and address will not be tied to your responses. Thank you taking the time to read this. If any of you are over 21, have a sibling diagnosed with a PDD and have a few minutes I ask you to take pity on a poor graduate student and earn some money and take a look at the survey. Guest guest
Hi Keri: I assume you only want sibs...If that is the case, it would be up to my son Jordan to contact you to request the survey. If you would like me to fill this out as a parent, I would be happy to do so. Guest guest
My name is Keri Anne Israelski, I am a doctorate student at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In previous years I have worked as a home-based Verbal Behavior therapist for children with autism. As I was working in homes and getting to know the families, the effect the child's disability had on the siblings became an issue of interest to me. As a result, I chose to do my doctoral dissertation on the coping processes employed by siblings of people diagnosed with pervasive developmental disabilities (PDD). This category includes the diagnoses of : Rett's Disorder, Aspergers Disorder, Autistic Disorder, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder, and/or PDD NOS. Having a PDD is also referred to as being on the autism spectrum. If you are a sibling of a person that fits the above criteria and are 21 years of age or over I would greatly appreciate it if you could take the time to complete my survey. The first 25 respondents will receivea visa gift card for $20. After you have completed the survey please email me at Ker1227aol (DOT) com or K.Israelski with your name and address and I will send out the visa gift card. The survey consists of a few demographic questions, the Ways of Coping Questionnaire by Folkman and Lazarus, as well as few qualitative questions at the conclusion of the survey. It should take approximately 20-30 minutes. The results from this survey will provide information about the coping processes of siblings of people diagnosed with PDD. Others working with siblings to help them explore their coping resources can use these results in the future. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have a minute and would like to earn some extra money please take pity on a desperate doctoral student and take a look at the survey, thanks : ) http://www.surveymonkey.com/ s.aspx?sm= zXQC2UJg16yhRk29 6JFWcg_3d_ 3d If this link does not work please email me at Ker1227@... and I will send you the link a different way.
