Guest guest
Dear Dr Furman, My son in law is in critical condition at UCSF in the ICU. He is +130 days post cord blood transplant. He received the transplant at the Fred Hutchinson Med. Center in Seattle. The current working diagnosis is Idiopathic Pneumonia Syndrome. He is on 20-30 liters of O2 to keep his saturations at 95%. He underwent a BAL and a VATS; so far, all cultures are negative. His Drs have administered high dose solumedrol, antiviral, broad-spectrum antibiotics and antifungal. He received two doses of IVIG and one dose of Embrel. He does not seem to improve or worsen since being transferred to the ICU three days ago. I would appreciate enormously your opinion regarding additional treatment or any suggestions you could offer. Thanks again. Aviva P.S. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.
