Guest guest
Been a month since I did the ASA desen at Cleveland Clinic. Still feeling great. Did a little experiment and ran a short course of Prednisone: 30-30-20-20-10-10-0-10 and GOT MY SENSE OF SMELL BACK. Only been off the Prednisone for a day so far, but still smelling! Still noticing that the discharge during my evening wash-out sessions is way less than before. Generally, feeling better than I have any time in recent memory - very little in the way of asthma symptoms (down from a constant wheeze and daily attacks) and when they happen, it is only light wheezing. Only used 1/2 of a Combivent this month - down from 2. Meeting with the doctor after the holiday to discuss removing some meds from the regimin - he is taliking about Singulair, I am trying to push for Advair (less steroids and WAY more expensive). ie
Guest guest
Hi , Glad you're feeling great! I hope your sense of smell stays with you. Singulair has no steroids, it is basically a safer version of Zyflo. They are different and Zyflo works better for a few. You should try Singulair and see because it is the safest if it works. Advair does contain steroids but they are topical, to your sinuses, rather than systemic like prednisone. It also has Serevent in it, which has a questionable reputation, look it up. It is also expensive. I'll send you a 100/50 packet that has not been opened if you want to try it. I have given up on it. It does not work for me. Others swear by it. I noticed much less " wash-out " and polyp growth after ASA.
