Guest guest
Celeste, Just FYI, per our naturopath's instructions, we are putting off any more vaccinations until our daughter is 1 1/2 years old and then plan to only give the tetanus and polio vaccinations, again per our naturopath's instructions. Tetanus because it is so easily contracted (even a rose thorn prick can do it) and polio because of contact with other polio vaccinated children. HIB Hi all, I've not heard you all talk about the HIB Vaccination. My dd is 11 months old and that was the one I did allow her to have. She has had 2 shots and I think a third is due. In doing my research this seemed to be the least harmful. My reseach has a long way to go I realize and now I wonder about this past decision. I almost feel as if I chose one to pacify my doctor, although she has been pretty good about respecting by decisions. Any thoughts. Have anyone done selective vaccations, if so which ones? Thanks Celeste << File: ATT00001.html >>
Guest guest
I do not have any idea how many children are NOT vaccinated. However, according to my naturopath, the only cases of polio in this country since 1970 have been from the vaccination itself. However, she did mention something about 1% of the cases are actually brought into the country from other countries (Mexico and the like). Re: HIB From: Jefkarp@... Guest guest
They are also linking chronic fatigue syndrome to polio vaccine calling it an atypical poliomyelitis. So it appears that the opv has not eradicated polio, just mutated it. I have been researching the tremendous increase (I call it an epidemic) in anaphylaxis in children (both rural and urban), and although no one keeps stats on these kids there is a suspicious link between the introduction of this vaccine in Ontario Canada and the increase in anaphylaxis. Of course I can get no medical or government official to even consider looking into the connection. Our Medical Officer of Health has ignored my repeated letters and the Ontario Minister of Health will not put anything in writing to me about the possible link. This makes me a little bit suspicious. Perhaps it is the combination of five vaccines at once (DPT-P Hib) that is causing the problems in some children. I went to a medical library to check some of the bibliography from Dr. Viera Scheibner's book, Vaccination, the Medical Assault on the Immune System, and this is very small sample of the shocking things I read: From: JAMA 1992; 267: 673-678 Impact of Haemophilus influenzae Type b Polysaccharide-Tetanus Protein Conjugate Vaccine on respnses to concurrently administered diptheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine. Conclusion: Concurrent administration of PRP-T vaccine with DTP vaccine, either in the same syringe or at different sites, interfered with antipertussis responses to a primary series of immunizations. Although the clinical significance of this antagonism is uncertain, these data underscore the caution required in decisions to add new vaccines to existing immunization regimens. From: Pediatrics Vol. 80 No. 2 August 1987 Immunogenicity of Haemophilus influenzae Type b polysaccharide-Neisseria meningitidis Outer Membrane Protein Conjugate vaccine in 2 to 6 month old infants. " .......questions that remain to be answered include the immunogenicity and safety of this conjugate vaccine when given concurrently with diptheria-tetanus-pertussis and oral polio vaccines at 2 to 6 months of age and the optimal interval between the first series of two injections and subsequent booster immunization with conjugate or conventional polysaccharide vaccine. " There were problems with the first generation Hib vaccine. This is from Pediatrics, Vol. 81, No. 6, June 1988: " We believe many important lessons can be gained from the experience with the first generation vaccine. Wisdom has been described as the ability to make the right decision without adequate evidence. In the case of the H influenzae type b polysaccharide vaccine controversy, there has been almost too much evidence, so that the task has been to determine what is real, what is important and what is artifact. Epidemiology is an inexact science that is unfamiliar to many clinicians; yet the results of epidemiologic studies are often the basis for establishing health policies and recommendations for vaccines. " These are only a few instances which show that our children are being used as guinea pigs, and they don't have a CLUE as to how these vaccines are affecting our kids. I'll try to get back to the library for more.......... God bless you all.........Rita
Guest guest
My child's doctor really wants me to get my 10 month old vaccinated with the HIB shot. He told me some pretty scary stories about the disease and children dying and being brain damaged. Does anyone have any info about the vaccine. I never really hear much about the HIB shot. Thank you so much.
Guest guest
OH, I meant by 18 months she was safe from catching HIB. Guest guest
I don't know the how of it but studies have shown a protective effect dependent on the duration of breastfeeding. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=9169183 & dopt=Abstract http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=10195681 & dopt=Abstract > How is a baby protected from HIB if breastfed?
