Guest guest
Call your state Health department. I just had to go there, hear what a bad parent I was, and what a stupid mistake I was making, sign a paper, and I am done. Thank goodness! Good luck! >From: Sarau71571@... >Reply-Vaccinationsonelist >Vaccinationsonelist >Subject: Re: exemptions in law books??? >Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 19:21:51 EDT > >From: Sarau71571@... > >I live in ohio and would like to know in what area of the law book do I find >the information pertaining to exemptions.I am having a difficult time finding >it.I know in this state they allow M/R/P. >Thanks! >Sara >Also,do I need to write up something and have it notarized?Has anyone written >a philos./personal exemption?I am not quite sure how I should word it. > >Nimet-she'll be 11 weeks old tomorrow and still, thank God,vaccine free! > >--------------------------------------------------------------------- --- >Are you hogging all the fun? >http://www.ONElist.com >Friends tell friends about ONElist! _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Guest guest
sara, An easy way may be to call your local representative and ask them what the law says and what exemptions are provided by law. If you contact the health dept., call rather than go there, and don't give them your real name. tell me what you find out and get back to me. I may be able to suggest how to write your letter. But there's no hurry. Your child far too young for school. gary On Tue, 27 Apr 1999 18:35:26 PDT " Shalia Overbaugh " <rands68@...> writes: >From: " Shalia Overbaugh " <rands68@...> > >Call your state Health department. Guest guest
Are the state laws at findlaw a legitimate source of information? Does anyone know? I would hate to think that I'm depending on laws that are outdated or nonexistent. Medina

Guest guest
Well I did a quick search and could not find the school law for vaccines but found the laws for daycare. http://www.state.oh.us/odhs/cdc/odhs1216.pdf I would suggest contacting : e Severyn, Director of Ohio Parents for Vaccine Safety (OPVS), 251 Ridgeway Dr., Dayton, OH 45459, ph/fax: 937-435-4750. She would have the current law for you. I find that many parents keep a notarized letter with them just in case of hospital visits or something. You really don't need the exemption until your child is school age but some parents find it helpful to have one on hand just in case, especially in states with a religious exemption and not a personal exemption.
