Guest guest
Hi I have just received my Short Synacthen test results. I did point out to the endo that my test was not commenced until 9.50 am although it was scheduled for 8.45 am. but this doesn't seem to be an issue. The result of my test is regarded as 'normal' as the peak level at 30 minutes apparently reached above 550. Time Cortisol nmol/L 0 min 310 30 min 629 I would like you to please let me know that this is really 'normal' I also wrote regarding my B12 and folate levels which I posted on here earlier. Again, I am told they are 'normal' although Sheila did tell me they should be higher. Results on Message #63621 Regarding my Vitamin D levels which were not tested as they were normal in 2005, I am told in this letter that 'The same principle also applies to calcium profile. It was entirely within the normal range and the whole profile did nto suggest that you are lacking in Vitamin D level and therefore the laboratory has taken the decision not to proceed and I have copied this letter to our clinical pathologist for hime to be aware of your concerns.' My thyroid test on 23rd July showed TSH is now close to our target level at 2.08 with FT4 of 11.9 and therefore the endo would be happy to continue with the current dose of 50mcg. However, she would be happy to give me a further trial of a slightly higher dose at 75mcg if I feel that my symtoms are still suggestive of hypothyroidism. My reply to this will be that I am aiming for '1' which is what 'normal' people are. I can use the word 'normal' just as much as the medical profession! Thanks for your help once again.
