Guest guest
Hello: For those who are dealing with family members who don't want to believe that M.D.s might not be infallible, the October 4 Newsweek has an article about the fact that "medical errors kill some 100,000 Americand every year." And the primary reasons given? "Ignorance and arrogance--a lethal combination." And an unwillingness to change: "Undoing a culture is hard, especially one steeped in hierarchy and intimidation." In short, even when there are "clear directions" that something needs to be changed, "doctors continue completing tasks in the way they're used to." If they weren't taught about iodine, iodine can't be good. End of story--for the doctors, and unfortunately a lot of their patients too. Thank you, Adrienne in Texas
