Guest guest
Yes!! I have skipped periods, and messed my cycle up big-time. Large amounts of intense exercise will do that. In my case I did go to my doctor, and we determined that I needed to regulate my exercise. I run alot, and I am very active person. I never did follow the doctors orders, and my periods did return to normal. Guest guest
Unless your bodyfat drops into the single digits for a long time and you have no muscle, doing BFL should not interfere with things. It only interferes with those who have a " concentration camp " look of skinniness. Remember that " feed " fake picture that was on here a while back? Well, someone who looks like that would be a candidate for menstrual problems, not doing regular BFL. Don't worry. Stasia
Guest guest
When I eat healthier, and eliminate excess sugar, salt, dairy, ect ect, my flow is not as heavy, and I hardly have any odor. It could be a combination of exercise and diet, but I think it's the healthier eating which causes these positive changes.
Guest guest
In regards to changing menstrual cycles, I wanted to " set the record straight " . My menstrual cycle is also late when doing BFL. This CAN happen regardless of bodyfat percentage. " Low bodyfat " was once considered the culprit for menstrual changes in the midst of major exercise. While extremely low bodyfat CAN cause issues with menstruation, this is not the most commom reason that exercise induces an issue. Scientific research has since shown that it's not low bodyfat, but rather an energy " exchange " issue. As you increase exercise abruptly (starting BFL or really amping up), your body needs more energy to continue its cycles. Menstruation is a SECONDARY action in the body. The body " shuts down " menstruation in favor of more crucial bodily processes, IF there is not enough energy. So, whether you're doing BFL or running a marathon, you may need more rest or a few more carbs in order for your hormones to drop to levels necessary for menstruation to begin. When I ran marathons, I had to take a few extra tablespoons of peanut butter and get 2 hours sleep more each night a few nights before my period was " due " . If I didn't, it prolonged the cessation of it...sometimes indefinitely until I did this routine. Once I did this, it came in several days like clockwork. The body simply needs adequate energy. Sometimes it's more sleep, and sometimes it's more food! Finally, fat loss in and of itself is wonderful, but can cause a CHANGE in menstruation during the time you are losing it. For some, their period comes early, and for some, it comes later. During my first BFL challenge, I didn't know this...and guess what... My husband and I " played around " right before my period was due. It turns out that the BFL had thrown off my normally clockwork cycles that month, because I was making so much progress with fat loss. Needless to say, even though my period was due that day, our " playing " resulted in creating our daughter! So, menstrual cycles CAN get a bit out of whack. But it doesn't mean it's unhealthy per se. Just be sure to get plenty of rest, because your body is really doing quite a bit to grow new muscle and burn stored bodyfat. Remember that you are an athlete in what you are doing, and as such, you need to SLEEP like one, too! :)Meredith > > > Hi guys, > > > > Have any of you experienced a change in your menstrual cycle since > > starting the program? Guest guest
Can Iodine cause a change in the frequency of menstrual cycle's? I have been on thyroid medication for almost a year now. I started Iodoral about a month ago and noticed my periods have gone from every 26-28 days to every 17-21 days. Any help is much appreciated.
