Guest guest
I just wanted to share this as I feel it is soooooo crucial in the health of our children...actually all children but especially children who are exposed to repeated rounds of antibiotics and who have low immune systems. What Pam said about her 's stools being so runny and when x- rayed of the intestines found them to be packed with stool... Josiah has never had any trouble with his stools and I know it is utterly and totally due to having been given PB-8 Acidophilus Powder for Children since he was an infant...through dozens of rounds of antibiotics and respiratory inf. He has always had healthy stools. And since going on an appropriate allergy med (Cromolyn) he has been very healthy respirtatorily and with his immune system. Rarely EVER is he sick. This I'm sure has to do with the vitamins he takes also. But the acidophilus is a definite benefit to a healthy intestinal tract. Just wanted to share this as I couldn't bear reading about the suffering without telling how beneficial acidophilus is for our little ones. Sincerely, Lyn

Guest guest
Rajee, My son has always had formed stools. We took an OATS test and saw that his bacteria was 311 and his yeast was 366. We started Valtrex and added Diflucan instead of nystatin and Vancomyocin for the bacteria problem. His stools were very loose and runny. I practically had him completely potty trained, but had to put pull ups back on him because he couldn't control his runny stools. I believe that I have alot of die off going on. We are on the same dose of Valtrex that you are. My son also had a fever for 3 days but no sign of a rash. Guest guest
Hi Michele, We had the opposite issue of constipation, otherwise the same symptoms and lack of a celiac dx. It does sound as those the Specific Carbohydrate Diet would help your son! You will know in pretty short order if it will. It worked wonders for our daughter. Guest guest
Hi Mandi, "....resolved completely after 10 days of HNI enzymes and off the diet". Was this after you had built up to a full dose and were you using a wider variety of the HNI enzymes >>This was when they first came out, so there were no low and slow guidelines then, we were the trail blazers I dropped the diet 10 mins after the lande don my doorstep, we used copius amounts of HNZyme and Peptizyde - they were the only products at the time. Giving around 10 caps of enzymes per day - my son is a grazer so thats all day long eating and dosing. We dropped the dosing to one of each x 4 per day after the first few weeks, testing the lowering by looking fro infraction behaviour - gluten we never notced any difference by casein infractiosn were really obvious before HNI, no existent in our case afterwards. For the first 10 days we had all sorts of strange poops, which knowing what I know now was likely the breakdown of old impactions, black, green, specks, sand, glue, mucus, you name it we had it and then voila, day 10 - sweet smelling formed brown stool There are guidelines now drawn up from parent reports over a prolonged period, I would not advise doing it the way we did, but I am glad I did if you get my drift. Guest guest
Hi, Not much help but, at the conference, Arthur Krigsman mentioned that yellow runny stools are common in our kids but that we still don’t know what causes them. Sara Loose stools I started ds on Culturelle - 25 days now (at 2 caps/day) and Zyme Prime - 18 days now (1 cap/meal) , recently added Peptizyde - day 3 (at 1/2 cap with b'fast & dinner). We've also just finished a 21 day course of Fluconazole for the yeast infection. When I joined I'd posted about our green stools .... Now after adding the enzymes and probios we have seen his stool has gone from being very smelly and green to what is now a very runny yellowey brown stool (close to diarrhea) but does not have the same toxic smell. Is this what can be expected from a yeast die off? I'm not sure if this is good or whether the high magnesium citramate of 560mg is causing the loose stools. Maybe I need to pull back on the magnesium a slight bit..... We don't however manage daily BM's, it's more like every 3rd day! Is anyone able to explain this or had similar effects? Should I be adding in more probios? emily -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
What really bugs me is that Norman's special needs school had his water beaker encrusted in mold and fungus aaaaarrrghhhh!!! and this is the second time round, I've discovered the spout and the valve all black!!! and they dare to say that they can meet his needs when they are actually making him ill because he just gets reinfected when he has drunk from the beaker. You'd never believe the sorry excuse the teacher comes up with "I am very sorry , I feel terrible about this but because we don't have children of our own, we were not aware that the valves need cleaning" . I can certainly say this is not the end of the matter, I am going to take this further. >>I am speechless (a rare event!) Mandi x

Guest guest
Nevin, hope yr son is doing better now. Dehydration, (I hope not, I'm flooding him with so much water!!!). We too were hospitalised very recently due to dehydration but ours was a severe and long case of yeast infection doubled up with Staphy bacteria (which they (drs) are not explaining how far this may have been involved in our recent problems. Have also just completed 2nd course of antibiotics and antifungals in space of 3months. Guest guest
Mandi, Vicky, Sara, Sophie and everyone else, Thanks for giving your experiences. I am going to continue with the enzymes and look at increasing (Mandi, of course following dosing table, not the " trail blazers " LOL!!! ) and see where we get to as in my mind and I am thinking that perhaps from acrid green stools to yellowey brown stools we may be on our way to more improvements. emily > > > In a message dated 14/02/2007 11:58:34 GMT Standard Time, > emilyscorer@... writes: > > Hi Mandi, > " ....resolved completely after 10 days of HNI enzymes and off the diet " . > Was this after you had built up to a full dose and were you using a wider > variety of the HNI enzymes > > > >>This was when they first came out, so there were no low and slow > guidelines then, we were the trail blazers > > I dropped the diet 10 mins after the lande don my doorstep, we used copius > amounts of HNZyme and Peptizyde - they were the only products at the time. > Giving around 10 caps of enzymes per day - my son is a grazer so thats all day > long eating and dosing. Guest guest
I'm going to start boring you all to tears with my repeating myself, but if your child has constant runny bm's I would encourage you to check out the files section in the lectins group I posted about yesterday. Look particularly at the study done on 6 autistic children with chronic diarrhea and how it was fixed in a month with NAG. NAG is one of the sugars that deals with lectins. Guest guest
Hi Sara, The kids in the study were taking 500 mgs of NAG over the day. This is all theoretical, but if the NAG is addressing diarrhea by helping with lectins, then the NAG should be taken just before a meal. Also keep in mind that NAG, although an important sugar, is just one of the sugars and different foods have different lectins, and different lectins would bind to different sugars. The basic premise, as I understand it, is that the NAG would act as a sort of sacrifical decoy to the lectins, so that instead of sticking around and harming the gut, they are escorted out of the body by the NAG. Again, different lectins bind to different sugars and NAG can't take care of all of them. In everything I've read, NAG is well tolerated and you may want to go higher. Only one child in the study didn't stop the diarrhea completely, but went from that to " floaters " , so an improvement, but not complete recovery. I don't want to make it sound like lectins are at the root of all diarrhea problems. I don't know how much of a role they might play, if any role at all, to be honest. However, I am excited about this though because it's not something I've come across before and the more I read the more sense it makes for many, many questions/problems I've encountered since we started biomed. If you have time, you may want to do some reading here and see if anything looks like Tom. http://health./group/lectins_in_autism/ I hope that helps, Anita > > Hi Anita, > > Tom has constant runny stools but already takes two capsules of NAG a day. > Should he take more? > > Sara x > > > >
