Anyway, the doc said can take Dimetapp cold and allergy formula, one tab for , for flare ups, and amazingly, it even helps with behaviors! Didn't someone else say this on here??? I didn't give him Dimetapp this morning, I want to see how it goes at school, so far so good at school with just Risperdal and Trileptal, BUT, he's been taking Dimetapp because of severe allergy attacks at school. Guest guest
Hi a, All, > Doubt it would do anything > for me, since my allergies aren't IgE mediated. > Teewinot > > I find this amazing. I wish someone, including Tee would comment on the > significance of this. Would this mean she/he does not have allergy at all? > What else showed up in your immune system tests? No, it doesn't mean that at all! <G> *MY* allergies are mediated by IgG and IgM, according to my doctor. I was given a blood test (that measures *IgE* response to allergens, which is what mediates a lot of allergic reactions) for things I'm suspected of being allergic to, or that I know definitely I'm allergic to, such as Melaleuca, Queen Palms, etc. The test came back *NEGATIVE*! I laughed at that. When I went back to the doctor to discuss the results, he said he was surprised because he suspected strongly that my allergies *WERE* IgE mediated, but they aren't. We did skin testing (by the neutralizing [optimal dose] method of intradermal skin testing) and oh was I allergic!!! So, just because you test negative on the blood test, it *doesn't* mean you don't have allergies. The immune system is extremely complicated (and it's been 23 years since I had my immunology class), but allergies can be mediated by several different ways, not just IgE, which tends to be the most common, I believe. Most allergists use the blood test or the imprecise scratch test. these don't work for everyone! That's why I don't go to a traditional allergist. Anyone interested in a more detailed explanation of all this can read about it at my doctor's website: http://www.allergycenter.com It's explained there quite well. Click on " Neutralizing Dose " . If you click on " M.I.T.D. " , you can read about food allergy testing. Hope this helps clear up the confusion. Teewinot @>--}-- * --{--<@ Teewinot13@... Guest guest
Hi Marie-Ange, If you drink some of the same kind of tea that you used for the Kombucha with a little bit of sugar in it do you get the same reaction? If not, maybe your KT is too acidic for your body or maybe you are indeed allergic to it. Do some experiments to find out what is going on but cut way back on the KT you drink or cut it out entirely if it seems to be the cause of these reactions and not the tea itself or the sugar you are using. Drink lots of water too, you can even put a teaspoon of KT in water and see if it still has the same effect and if you still get a reaction stop drinking KT and try again another time. Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev > > Good Morning To All > > Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to Kombucha Tea? > > Sometimes, after drinking my tea, I feel a tingly, itchy feeling on my thighs and torso. Today I'm having more reaction, feeling my sinuses swell, even my tongue a little and the left side of my upper lip is visibly swollen. Could the Kombucha do this? My brew generally taste quite vinegary. > > Be well, > > Marie-Ange >
