Guest guest
tell me what you eat right now and what you will not eat. How much you weigh. And are willing to eat like an O so that the body can heal itself. I'll tell you about supplements once I get a response from you. Love WELCOME!!!!!! Intro/Post-Op Help Needed Hi guys, I need your help. Let me do my overdue intro first. I am in my late 40's, look as if I'm in my late 30's (great luck!!!) and in addition to having the ravages of failed attempts of living the vegetarian lifestyle; i.e., high cholesterol, hypertension and elevated blood sugar levels (not yet diabetes, thank God); and am losing some excess weight; I have some pretty debilitating symptoms of multiple sclerosis. This primarily has sidelined my life, especially in the last 6 years, and I've been officially disabled since 1997. I have had all the worst symptoms at one time or another, such as being unable to stand, walk etc. and fatigue. I have been in a remission of sorts for the last 7 months for which I'm very thankful. I do not need my cane - a first since '97, and also do not stagger-walk unless really fatigued. Even the fatigue has improved since I started ER4YT in August! Overall I'm thrilled with my systemic health, and cannot ever envision going back to the conventional eating lifestyle!! In June I had a very mild stroke, which left my right arm and leg temporarily paralyzed and then extremely weak. After 6 weeks of very intensive therapy, I was able to forget about my wheelchair and a month later, my cane. This episode caused a tremendous strain on my left arm and shoulder, and led to the resurgence of a 22 year old injury (which originally needed 7 surgeries to heal). As a result, last week I had shoulder surgery (left), - needed repair of a torn rotator cuff muscle, an impingement and scar tissue removal in the joint socket (repairing a dislocation). Luckily, my orthopedic surgeon was able to do this with 3 arthroscopic incisions, and did not have to open my entire shoulder up. I'm allergic to most antibiotics, and was scheduled to spend 2 days in the hospital on antibiotic IV, but started to react negatively to the antibiotics, and it was terminated the following morning. I was sent home, and the next morning awoke to excruciating pain in my left foot! Because I have multiple sclerosis, I have had flare-ups after surgery in the past, however, this was different. To cut a long story short, it appears that somewhere between the operating and recovery rooms, I suffered real bad soft tissue/ligament damage to my left foot. X-rays show that my ankle bones are not arthritic, so the conclusion is that I have a really bad sprain! I also had an old injury repair to my right knee last September; and in 1999 I had major surgery on my right shoulder due to a car accident. In that accident I also sustained 3 herniated discs in my neck and lower back. I also have carpel tunnel syndrome in both wrists. That's the background. my question is this - what extra supplementation do you think I should take to support my body with the extra healing it has to do at this time? Is there a product that could support my bones to halt/prevent future arthritic changes? I really need some input here. Thanks, Jannette O Neg. jema1@... Guest guest
Hi , We spoke on the phone in October...I had called you in panic after a very disappointing visit to the cardiologist and finding my cholesterol levels higher on the BTD. Now, as then, I am about 95% compliant, especially when it comes to Avoids - none knowingly; I eat primarily HB, and use neutral foods sparingly. I started BTD in the first week of August 2001. Unlike many, I had no detox reactions....it was all good - immediate weight loss, inch loss and greatly increased energy!!! On Labor Day weekend, while out of town, out of sheer starvation I grabbed a slice of cake in the hotel lobby! What a mistake! Having never suffered from sinus/allergy type problems, I was unused to dealing with (I know it sounds gross) PHLEM!! 3 hours later, after a compliant dinner it started........it seemed like gallons of it! I remember calling the hotel front desk for 3 extra pillows, as it seemed that I would drown in it if I laid down! Thankfully, at 3:30am, I finally wretched my guts out and it was over! Never again will wheat/corn knowingly enter my body. The upside of this experience is that I will never have to make myself ignore traditional " goodies " , I am simply " not interested " ! The one area I initially needed more compliance in was protein and carbohydrate portion, and , thanks for getting me straight on that. I doubled my protein and cut my carbohydrate to a quarter. To be honest, I feel that what I need most for the reversal of my cholesterol, weight and blood sugar problems now, is time. Time to erase all the damage of 25 years of following the " one size fits all heart friendly diet " . My family history makes me high risk for cardiac disease and losing my 44-yearold father to a fatal 4th heart attack made a great impression on me. So I first tried to become a vegetarian at 20 - disaster, I thought weakness etc. would kill me! I still kept trying though, and was always into " eating healthy " , and come my 40s, most definitely not reaping the benefits! So I KNOW this is the diet for my health! My concern at this time is insuring that as my body is undertaking this massive healing project to give it all the support it needs. I am not overly concerned about menopausal changes right now as recent blood tests show that the process has not even began (yikes!), but I need a supplement that will aid healing, build cartilage and strengthen muscle function. I currently take: CoQ10 10mg q-gelcaps Vit. C Nitricycle Deflect (2c daily) Fucos Plus MSM 1000mgs Vit B-3 (1000mg daily for high cholesterol) Cal/Mag liquid Cod Liver Oil Lifestar Women's Multivitamin Maca In addition I take prescription drugs for hypertension, hypothyroidism and " restless legs syndrome " (taking less now) and now a painkiller, Darvocet (not too much yet, physical therapy starts next week!). It seems like a lot, but believe me, its the least amount of drugs I've been on in YEARS! LOL! Thanks for any input. Jannette - O Neg. jema1@... Guest guest
Dear Jannette, I posted the ingredients of a product here (Australia) called " Hernidisc " . Did you see that post? Hernidisc has amazing success here with any bone and disc problems. My 2c is for you to try and get a hold opf as many of those ingredients as possible! Here it is again if you missed it: HERNIDISC I spoke to Eagle Pharmaceuticals who produce/distribute this product in Australia. Unfortunately there is no real great way to get this to you all who want it. There are very strict laws and they have been preparing for 1 year just to be able to sell to Asia, and haven't even begun on US yet. I have, however, managed to get my hands on the ingredients list so here goes: Ascorbic Acid 150mg Bronelains 100mg Calcium hydrogen 100mg (equiv. calcium 23mg) Bioflavanoids 70mg Magnesium amino acid chelate 70mg (Equiv Magnesium 42mg) magnesium Oxide 70mg (Equiv 42mg) Calcuim ascorbate 50mg Calcium orotate 50mg Manganese amino acid chelate 50mg (Equiv. manganese 5mg) Sodium ascorbate 50mg Calcium pantothenate 30mg Zinc amino acid chelate 30mg (Equiv. zinc 3mg) Equisemun arveense (ext. equiv dry stem) 100mg (Horsetail) Allantoin 20mg Rutin 20mg Silica, colloidal anhydrous 20mg Pyridoxine hydrochloride (B6) 15mg dl-alpha Tocopheryl acetate] 15mg (Equiv. vit. E 151 IU) Arnica montana 6X 5mg Ferrous phosphate 6X 5mg Hypericum perforattum 12X 5mg Rhus toxicodendron 6X 5mg Rhus graveolens 3X 5mg Cholecalciferol 5mcg (Equiv. vit. D 200IU) Retinyl palmitate 225mcg (Equiv. vit. A 750IU) Don't ask me what half of those things are! Smiles,
