Arthritis supplements 'have no clinical impact'

Two supplements prescribed to almost a million arthritis sufferers in England

last year do not work, researchers have claimed.

Glucosamine and chondroitin, which are recommended by doctors to reduce the pain

caused by osteoarthritis in the hips and knees, have no physical impact on the

symptoms of the condition, according to the experts.

Health authorities should stop funding the supplements and prescribing them to

new patients, the scientists from the University of Bern in Switzerland said...
